In the past two decades, the Government of Rwanda has consistently and rather successfully pursued development objectives, but many challenges persist including in food and nutrition.
WFP Rwanda helps the Government enhance the national capacity to manage and innovate, but also to tackle more immediate humanitarian needs and provide a path to self-reliance, ensuring no one is left behind while facilitating national ownership. WFP is increasingly transitioning from humanitarian action into development and humanitarian nexus efforts to create links and make greater impact.
The position is in the External Partnerships and Communication Unit. The WFP Rwanda Country Office (CO) aims to continuously enhance its partnership management, communication and advocacy to sustain support to beneficiaries, scale-up existing and implement new programmes in support of the Government’s vision for the country.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Supporting the implementation of WFP Rwanda’s Partnership Action Plan by mapping and identifying potential partners for thematic funding opportunities (e.g., school feeding, social protection, climate mitigation and adaptation)
- Supporting the internal capacity development of fundraising activities with strategic outcome managers.
- Implementing RWCO’s Social Media Visibility Plan.
- Supporting the development and implementation of a Communications and Advocacy Strategy to enhance the visibility of RWCO’s activities to its partners, e.g., through the development and management of social media content and interactions, videos, presentations and factsheets.
- Contributing to the preparation of management and partner briefs, briefings, reports and project visits; and
- Ensuring timely and high-quality follow-up to meetings by drafting notes for the record/minutes of meetings and monitoring agreed actions.

- Supporting graphic design requirements of RWCO.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Student or fresh graduate of economics, sociology, nutrition, public health, journalism/communication or similar.
Experience:
Not a mandatory requirement, but internship in similar capacities would be a plus
Knowledge &Skills:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Publisher, Photoshop or similar programmes
Proven affinity and experience with social media (active accounts, followers, voluntary experience with social media management of an NGO or similar background)
Languages:
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an asset.

This internship position will be based in WFP Rwanda, Karongi Field Office and the job holder will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Field Office. At this level, the job holder will be expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiatives to respond independently to various queries across all field operations and all SOs. The job holder will be responsible to document all FO operations including refugee operations, Social Protection, and resilience projects, HGSF programme and Small Holder Agriculture and market support related project with focus on monitoring current initiatives on linkage of schools to farmers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Monitor and document the implementation of all activities under FO operations and projects including those implemented by WFP and those implemented by WFP cooperating partners.
- Collect and summarize programme(s) data, collaborating with implementing partners where required, conduct analysis and prepare reports in order to support programme reviews and inform decision-making.
- Liaise with implementing partners and key stakeholders to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services
- Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g., programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
- Promote the creativity and innovative culture across all programmes within the FOs. Support and document the new initiative/pilot of farmers linkages to schools for market solutions

- Document all achievements, gaps and challenges from FOs across all units and from our CPs and share monthly bulletin/FO image.
- Liaise with the field office team, partners and other stakeholders, prepare and share contextual information to explain outcome and process monitoring indicators, particularly deviations from target (if any) on a quarterly basis to project team at WFP CO.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
- Monthly FO bulletin highlighting FO operations, WFP resources, projects achievements, gaps, and challenges.
- Gender, protection, and AAP (accountability to affected population) are integrated in all FO implemented activities and reports highlight gender transformation and protection to beneficiaries.
- Farmers to schools’ linkages initiative or pilot is documented and scaled up.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/master’s degree programme from a recognized University in international business and trade, Agriculture and Agri business
- Completed at least two years of the programme from a recognized University, with a 12-month attendance University in international business and trade, Agriculture and Agri business
- Recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s programme in the last twelve months University in international business and trade, Agriculture and Agri business
Experience:

Six in the South (Ruhango, Nyanza, Huye, Gisagara, Nyaruguru and Nyamagabe and one in the West (Rusizi) WFP Huye field office is looking for a suitable candidate to participate in the female Internship Programme 2023 in Monitoring and evaluation and Knowledge management focusing on Small Holder Farmers Market Support. The position will be based in Huye field office. The internship will be typically for a period of at least 6 months from February 2023 to July 2023.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the direct supervisor of Head of Huye field office, the intern will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provide specialized support to SHF operations and programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures in the following areas
- Facilitate participating farmer organizations and farmer-friendly aggregation entities to access agricultural services by coordinating with key value chain stakeholders on the ground.
- Liaise with internal counterparts across functional units to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities
- Participate and contribute to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting of SAMS interventions, with focus on FtMA platform in close coordination with cooperating partners. •
- Liaise with the External Partnerships and Communications unit (EPC) and/or relevant colleagues and produce periodic updates on SAMS work, including operational updates.

JOB PURPOSE: This internship position will contribute to the overall monitoring and implementation of Smallholder Farmer activities including the Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA), MCF, SMART, SAPMP, and CA Projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities linked to SHF support and processes at the field office level, supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
- With the guidance of SAMS programme associate and WFP Country Office SHF unit, the intern will act as the focal point for SHF-related field activities.
- Provide specialized support to SHF operations and programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures in the following areas:
- Conduct needs assessments of target SHFs, using standardized tools and approaches
- Facilitate participating farmer organizations and farmer-friendly aggregation entities to access agricultural services by coordinating with key value chain stakeholders on the ground
- Facilitate linkages of cooperatives to private sector entities for access to post-harvest handling equipment
- Monitor and assist cooperatives and other aggregation entities to adhere to terms of forward delivery contracts facilitated by WFP
- Conduct training of trainers of partner staff, as well as ensure quality monitoring of all SHF-related capacity building activities.
- Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g., programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
- Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Support the capacity building of cooperating partners involved in implementing WFP supported activities related to smallholder farmers.

Under the Strategic Outcome 1, WFP provides unconditional cash and food transfers to campbased refugees to meet their basic food and nutrition needs. WFP Rwanda is seeking to fill an internship position for female candidates. The position will be based in Kirehe Field Office for a period of 6 months.
JOB PURPOSE: This internship position will contribute to the overall monitoring and implementation of cash transfer for General Food Assistance (GFA) for refugees in Mahama Camp.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the management of the Head of Field Office, and the technical supervision of the CBT/CFM monitoring assistant, the candidate will perform the following duties.
- Assist the CBT/CFM field team in the preparation, coordination, and monitoring of monthly cash transfers for General Food Assistance (GFA). This includes, review payment lists, developing communication messages, participate in sensitization and consultative meeting to inform refugees their entitlements, cash distribution plan, and provide feedback.
- With the guidance of CFM/CBT team, support the CFM help desk to register complaints in WFP Corporate SUGAR CRM platform, make referral where required, follow-up on complaints and assist in providing timely feedback to refugees.
- Support in the monitoring of cash transfer, collect and analyze CBT data, receive, and collate comments and feedback from beneficiaries, develop data visualizations, analytical reports, and support in drafting of documents/briefs support identifying CBT related issues with a view to improve implementation and delivery of cash transfer.
- Facilitate replenishment of Bank agents during the cash transfer cycle, support quarterly bank registrations, organize regular meetings on CBT, provide tools, information, training and capacity building sessions to refugee CBT committee and Bank agents. DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: At the end of internship contract, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the below deliverables.
- CBT communication tools/channels, messages, transfer schedules, entitlements, developed/updated for refugee CFM committee, bank agents and refugees.
- CBT monitoring plan, tools, reports, SUGAR CRM platform updated with complaints entered on time, referrals made, complaints followed up and feedback provided to refugees.
- CBT refugee Committee responsibilities revised/updated, tailored training and capacity building materials developed and translated for ease communication to refugees.

In order to achieve this, The Country Office hosted a digital analysis mission with an intent of having a single view of all technology initiatives and how they support the CO CSP, and capture pre-requisites, risks and metrics. The digital roadmap and plan to address prerequisites has been approved and ready to be implemented to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.
