  • Collaborating with the supply chain team for timely tracking of fixed assets to be capitalized and produce succinct reports on the same monthly.
  • Pinpoint areas of improvement in existing internal controls and advise on ways to improve. Providing ad hoc financial reporting, other duties and project work as may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • A Degree in Finance or Accounting, Economics, management, or related field,

  • Daily monitoring of all transactions happening on bank accounts in the ledger as well as those at the Bank and identify any irregularities.
  • Daily monitoring of all transactions happening on non-revenue accounts including system accounts to identify any irregularities.
  • Report any suspected fraudulent transactions to the supervisor for immediate action.
  • Identify gaps in existing internal controls, and pinpoint areas where risks relating to banking transactions could be minimized.
  • Identify dormant accounts and ensure they are managed in line with the Company policy.
  • Provide documentation for the purpose of supporting all financial transactions.
  • Prepare daily bank reconciliation reports regarding all cash deposits and withdrawals to ensure daily sign-off in line with the policy.
  • Resolve any reconciling items within the timelines stipulated in the Company policy.
  • Ensure Bank confirmations are prepared and shared and responses obtained for audit purposes.
  • Adhere to corporate standards and procedures in all reconciliation activities.
  • Handle any other task that might be assigned by the supervisor.
  • A Degree in Finance or Accounting, management, or related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Fintech, Banking or Digital operations.
  • Possess experience in performing operational bank accounts and internal accounts reconciliations in Fintech, Banking or Digital companies.
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages.

Channel Analytics & Reporting at MTN Mobile Money: (Deadline 8 September 2023)

  • Develop analytics to support Mobile Money sales channels (traditional – agents, freelancers, service centers, connect shops & digital – Momo App, website.etc) and to drive Sales Subscriber acquisition and increase revenues
  • Develop commercial Models that deliver timely and action-oriented outputs that can drive commercial discussions for strategic decisions in the Mobile money sales channels.
  • Support the development of strategic business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Define the implementation and business intelligence roadmaps for various Mobile Money products and services introduced in the Market.
  • Preparation, Presentation, and Implementation of approved Mobile Money Sales Channel structure, commissions, and Channel Incentives ensuring Channel performance improvement and Channel Loyalty
  • Data Mining and Segmentation and Data Analytics for Sales and distribution.
  • Work with partner departments to provide external benchmarking of MTN’s performance within the market, highlighting opportunities to drive incremental revenue.
  • Proper Market analysis and performance reporting of Non-Financial KPIs related to Channel Sales activities (float and cash distribution), Trade Activations, Gross Adds, Market Share, MoMo conversion rate, and other Key indicators showing key trends that will support sales strategy and decision making.
  • Analyze the performance of Mobile Money sales channels and design strategies for permanent improvement.
  • Improve operational efficiencies by formulating and implementing business processes.
  • Driving standardization and consistency in reporting
  • Weekly and Monthly reporting on Pricing, Commission, Market Share, Sales Channel and Quality of Customer.
  • Tracking the performance of Revenue generating Agents, Merchants, Freelancers, and Channel Developers and suggesting performance improvement strategies
  • Daily, weekly, and Monthly Analysis of Channel performance against regional targets for all Financial and Non-financial KPIs.

Education:

  • Degree/diploma in Business IT, Statistics, Data Visualization/reporting or related field.
  • Post Graduate degree in a similar or related field is an advantage.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years total experience in Data Analytics / Engineering /
    Visualization is required.
  • Experience in Fintech, banking or Telecom is preferred.
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding of
    emerging markets is preferred.
  • Experience in data analysis and management, business performance management
    and BI within the Fintech industry
  • Knowledge of modern Big Data platforms and Open-Source solutions to database,
    data analysis, and data management
  • Deep knowledge and experience in data reporting/visualization tools (Power BI,
    Tableau, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge and experience in data analytics tools (SQL, Python, SAS, etc.)
  • Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political,
    social, infrastructure and integrity challenges.
