JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Remote Group seeks to hire qualified and experienced personnel to fill the following position;
Job Title: Principal Architect
Reporting To: Technical Director
Location: Rwanda
Summary:
The role holder will manage and support the supervision of all related activities of a staff of architects and technicians. In addition to designing building plans, the role holder will be responsible for preparing bids and project proposals and completing projects from design through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly manages the development of architectural designs and preliminary construction details
- Ensures complex architectural design work is completed on time and adheres to the established specifications and standards
- Directs the development of new methods and techniques
- Prepares project schedules, bids and/or proposals
- Creates functional strategies and specific objectives (including functional budgets/policies/procedures) to support the functional infrastructure
- Provide application architectural solutions to meet business requirements
- Provide architectural support for application development and modification activities
- Work with team members to develop architectural strategies and guidelines
- Recommend new technologies to management to develop robust application
- Review and recommend improvements to existing application architectures
- Provide guidance to project teams in all phases of the project
- Accountable for all design project documentation as stated in the Project Charter
- Analyze and troubleshoot architecture related issues in a timely fashion
- Manage effective relationships with external architects, interior designers, sales team, and sub-contractors.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Architecture and Construction
- Minimum 5+ years of managerial experience
- Expert in Revit, AutoCAD and working knowledge of WaterCAD, Blueprints and Building Codes
- Experience in East Africa required
- Relationship development with related professionals and with clients
- Work collaboratively with the project and management teams and consultants through all the project phases
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to coach and mentor team architects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Presentation skills and the ability to describe the design and concepts in a concise manner
- Networking and interpersonal skills
- Able to develop cooperative relationships with department heads
- Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems
- Track record of strategic development in the construction industry

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Remote Group seeks to hire qualified and experienced personnel to fill the following position;
Job Title: Senior Architect Project Manager
Reporting To: Technical Director
Location: Rwanda
Summary:
The role holder will be reliable and comfortable with all phases of technical design while leading a team and interfacing with construction teams. The role holder will have experience in several projects and construction types and has a track record for delivering exceptional project results.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability of delivery of the project design against time, cost, and quality to the Project Board
- Collaborate with all heads of departments and co-ordinate work packages
- Create design plans, projections and clear documentation
- Provide controlled access to the designs and manage the version control for users.
- Accountable for all design project documentation as stated in the Project Charter
- Plan all designs and work with the project manager and construction manager (or client) to ensure deadlines will be met
- Provide proactive recommendations to improve the designs and reduce costs during the course of the project, as appropriate
- Evaluate progress, prepare contingency arrangements and fall back plans.
- Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety standards and Quality Assurance standards and report issues
- Ensure appropriate permits are obtained
- Assess the performance of the management team and seek to consistently upgrade the skills through coaching, mentoring or additional training.
- Manage effective relationships with architects, interior designers, sales team, and sub-contractors.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Technical Architecture
- Are proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Photoshop and Creative Suite
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working in an architectural, construction, engineering office
- Experience managing projects in Sub-Saharan Africa or other emerging markets
- Demonstrate the ability to create technical solutions for a variety of project types
- Have expertise in developing technical drawings and take responsibility for all drawings and documents in all stages of the project
- Work collaboratively with the design team and consultants through all the project phases
- An in-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data and interpretation
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Networking and interpersonal skills
- Presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately
- Able to develop cooperative relationships with department heads
- Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems
