The Niger State Scholarship Details 2025
The Niger State Scholarship is an initiative of the Government of Niger State to provide welfare for tertiary education students at undergraduate and graduate levels who are indigenes of the state.
The scholarships are disbursed annually to selected candidates provided they are able to demonstrate full time enrollment in a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution.
About The Niger State Scholarship Board
The Niger State Scholarship Board is the agency which is responsible for the scholarships and bursaries offered by the government of the state to the indigenes.
The Niger state scholarship Board was established in 1976 when the State was created, with the primary responsibility of disbursing government grants to all indigenous students of Niger State in all the tertiary institutions in Nigeria and abroad to carter for their welfare and sustenance throughout the period of their study.
The board offers scholarships to indigenes of Niger State who are enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria and abroad. They are in charge of announcing the call for applications, reviewing the applications, selecting the best candidates, and disbursing the funds.
Types of Niger State Scholarships
The Niger State Scholarship Board offers the following types of scholarships to its indigenes who are studying in Nigeria or abroad;
- Niger State Scholarship Bursary: This scholarship is offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Nigerian and overseas tertiary institutions.
- Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship: The BEA Scholarship is a special type of award between the Federal Government of Nigeria and other foreign countries in Europe, Carribean, and Asia.
- Special Scholarship Award: The Niger State Special Scholarship Award is automatically offered to secondary school students who make a remarkable seven (7) distinctions in the WASSCE or NECO exams. The scholarship will cover 100% of the students’ bills to study in Nigeria and 50% if they wish to study abroad
Eligibility Requirements for Niger State Scholarship 2025
To be considered for the Niger State Scholarships 2025, you must:
- Be a citizen of Niger State Nigeria
- Be enrolled in a tertiary institution located in Nigeria or abroad.
- Possess a full-time admission as a student of the said institution.
- Admission letters in languages other than English must be accompanied by certified true and accurate translations.
How Much is Niger State Scholarship 2025
The Niger State Scholarship Board serves the students of tertiary institutions by paying them scholarship allowance at the following rates;
- MBBS/DVM – N120,000
- Pre-Clinical – N60,000
- Engineering at Degree Level (All field) – N90,000
- Pharmacy at Degree Level – N60,0000
- Architecture at Degree Level – N60,0000
- Environmental at Degree Level – N60,0000
- LLB at Degree Level – N60,000
- Other degrees, HND, NCE, ND, and OND – N50,000
- A sum of $1500 will be paid to students who studying overseas.
