Job Purpose
– To ensure compliance to the Law No. 47/2012 of 14/01/2013 Relating to the Regulation and Inspection of Food and Pharmaceutical Products and applicable Regulations of the Rwanda FDA by all companies, businesses, individuals and institutions dealing with food and drugs through management of the Food and Drugs Import and Export Control Unit.
– To lead, direct and coordinate the functions and activities of the Food and Drugs Import and Export Control Unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
– To Control of the importation and exportation of all products regulated by the Rwanda FDA.
– To Coordinate inspection of consignments of medical products, processed foods and other products regulated by Rwanda FDA at ports of entry and exit to ensure that they comply with the applicable Regulations and Guidelines.
– To Receive and evaluate applications for import and export licenses for products regulated by the Rwanda FDA.
– To Process import and export licenses for applicants who meet the Rwanda FDA requirements.
– To Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of quality management system to ensure that processes, systems and procedures needed for quality enhancement of the services offered by the Unit are established and implemented.
– To Coordinate the development of guidelines, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other quality management system documents for the Unit.
– To Coordinate the development of activity plans and budgets for the Unit and ensure effective budget management with the objective of cost saving.
– To Identify, analyze and minimize risks to avoid negative impact on the achievement of objectives and targets of the Unit in particular and Rwanda FDA in general.
– To Manage, mentor, and develop the capacity of staff in the Import and Export Control Unit
– To Collaborate with other Units in furtherance of the vision, mission and strategic objectives of Rwanda FDA.

Job Purpose
– To be responsible for conducting GCP inspections of accredited clinical research sites to protect the rights, safety, and welfare of subjects involved in clinical trials in Rwanda.
Duties and Responsibilities
– To screen and carry out evaluation of application for authorization of conducting clinical trials,
– To supervise, control and coordinate clinical trials,
– To prepare and submit evaluation and progress reports on clinical trials,
