  • Scanning and ensuring proper digital filing of all office documents related to implementing agents, government institutions, individual as required, that must be retained in support of corporate policies.

  • Creating a file with hyperlink to some of the documents linking the hard copies and online ones

Education:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

  • currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or

  • have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a master’s degree or equivalent studies.

Field of study: Information systems, administration or equivalent.

IT skills:

  • Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
  • Electronic records management

Language skills:

  • Englishrequired; French knowledge is added advantage.
  • Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.

Other competencies and attitude:

  •  Interest and motivation in working in an international organization;
  •  Good analytical skills in gathering and consolidating data and research for practical implementation;

  1. To be involved in the deployment of new access points and switches to enhance the internet accessibility in the compound.
  2. To work with the ICT team to comply with requirements from our sister agencies, especially joining new computers on intunes and MS Azure.
  3.  To work with ICT team in developing digital tools for the office, to go for paperless by developing stationaries stock management.

  2. To update and produce the list of the office equipment by specifying Brand, model, and serial number and make sure that staff signed the list of equipment in their office respectively.
  3. To update and record all assets in the newly developed software application and make sure the new tags printing system and fix the tags on each office.
  4. To carry out all other tasks requested by the supervisor.

Rwanda Accelerator lab is part of the global UNDP Accelerator Labs network composed of 91 lab teams/locations serving 115 countries. The Accelerator labs are the world’s largest and fastest learning network on wicked development challenges of the 21st century. It is UNDP’s new way of working introduced in 2019 through a partnership with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, the Qatar Fund for Development as founding investors as well as support from Italy and UNDP Core donors.

Project Title: Empowering Development through AI at UNDP Accelerator Lab Rwanda

Project Background:

The UNDP Accelerator Lab in Rwanda is a pioneering initiative tackling development challenges through rapid experimentation and innovative solutions. One focus area is Artificial Intelligence (AI), recognizing its potential to revolutionize various sectors and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern position will support the Accelerator Lab team in identifying, exploring, and evaluating potential applications of AI for development challenges in Rwanda.

Under the guidance of the team and direct supervision by the Head of exploration and Acclab Team, the Intern will give support to the ongoing initiatives/projects and in delivering tasks such as but not limited to programmatic, operational, and administrative work.

The Intern will be expected to support in the working out loud and communicating the Accelerator lab initiatives through blogs, reports, social media and  across multiple platforms.

  • Conduct background research and support the production of case studies and other communication material about innovative  solutions featured by the Accelerator Lab and office    for publication in external channels.
  • Conduct research and analysis on the latest AI trends and their potential applications in the Rwandan context.
  • Support the identification of specific development challenges where AI could offer promising solutions.
  • Assist in the design and planning of pilot experiments or feasibility studies for selected AI applications.
  • Conduct data analysis and visualization to support project activities.
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials and reports related to AI initiatives.
  • Participate in workshops, meetings, and discussions related to AI and development.
  • Assist the team in building partnerships with AI experts, research institutions, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the evolving ethical considerations surrounding AI development and deployment.
