ARC is looking for a qualified, self-driven and committed individual to join our team in the stated position – to be based full time in any one of the field sites (refugee camps) where ARC has active operations.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of this role is community-based child protection through supporting individual children and families and handling child-related cases. The Child Protection Caseworker is responsible for providing psychosocial support to SGBV child survivors. S/he will work closely with relevant colleagues to identify children at risk, children with special needs and provide case management services in line with Rwanda’s Standard Operating procedures, and Global minimum standards of child protection case management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with residents at the assigned site, and other agencies to promote communal led child protection mechanism
Assess, identify and verify the children with special needs and work with relevant stakeholders/implementing partners to address the identified needs;
Provide case management services in line with the National Standard Operating Procedures for case management & Global Child Protection Case Management Guidelines;
Refer cases with specific needs to the competent service providers, follow up and document referred cases.
Provide and keep adequate documentation of all cases in child protection including establishment and update of the BIAs and BIDs as appropriate;
Liaise with the programs social and community services’ teams to engage children in recreation activities at their leisure;
Responsible for closely coordinating with relevant external agencies for service provision and referrals to national mechanisms to report cases of children at high risk of harm as per the agreed SoP and referral pathway in place to ensure the child’s best interests.
Be proactive in identifying opportunities to better support children through facilitating processes, systems, etc.
Support program volunteers and other community-based structures in their daily routine follow-ups and home visits to identify and support child protection cases; and
Prepare required daily, weekly and monthly reports and briefs.
REQUIRED SKILLS, BEHAVIORS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Community Development, Psychology, human rights, or related field
Minimum of three years’ experience implementing child protection programs, preferably in social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings
Excellent report writing, communication, and analytical skills.
Comfortable working with unaccompanied children from multicultural backgrounds
Proven record on non-use of violence or abuse against children
The capable communicator in English; including written
Conversance with French and Kinyarwanda an added advantage
Self-motivated and client-oriented with a strong sense of personal ethics, integrity, and quality
Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, and a high level of flexibility and tolerance to ambiguity

ARC is looking for a qualified, self-driven and committed individual to join our team in the stated position – based at and to serve full time in the new Gashora Emergency Transit Centre, Bugesera District – Rwanda.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Matron promotes a happy and well-disciplined atmosphere throughout the settlement. The team of matrons ensures timely and regular care and welfare of the people of concern including the unaccompanied minors. The incumbent collaborates with other protection and community service staff to ensure that identified cases that need timely attention are attended to. The team of matrons also facilitates agreed on routines of and with the community which seeks to promote health, safety, respect, harmony, joy, and confidence of program participants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote health, wellbeing, and welfare of the residents – program participants – including un-accompanied minors
Support in creating a happy and well-disciplined atmosphere throughout the settlement
Ensure tidiness/cleanliness, hygiene – body and space/rooms or blocks
Ensure Menstrual supplies and support for menstrual hygiene where applicable; also informal health guidance, dignity, hygiene for young girls.
Participate fully in the life of the community, supporting sporting, the house plays, attending and supporting concerts and being an integral part of social events in the life of the community.
Ensure program participants’ religious care, health, and welfare
Follow up and ensure the facilitation of material assistance needs, collection, and safekeeping especially for unaccompanied minors or persons who may be unwell.
Assure right care is given to program participants, and their well-being is taken care of at all times by various program service providers and stakeholders.
Facilitate agreed with routines of the community, which seek to promote health, safety, respect, harmony, joy, and confidence of program participants.
Provide guidance and basic counseling (non-clinical) e.g. evening talks, roundtables, etc. to program participants based on assessed or reported needs.
Serve as a useful and caring link; a trusted listener, enabler and connector of program participants and program service providers, and stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS, BEHAVIORS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education or related field
Minimum of three years of experience as a matron or directly relatable full-time responsibility or job
Experience in social work preferably in an emergency context, and low resource settings
Extensive knowledge of the Child Rights, Child Protection Policies, Principles, and Strategies
Good listener, approachable and of nurturing nature and attitude
Willingness to reside and work full time in a camp setting; work arrangement may include night-shifts or unscheduled calls for response and support.

Under the leadership and guidance of the program’s Education Officer, program teachers implement, track and report on the program’s language, non-formal and accelerated formal education interventions. The non-formal education program focuses on applied life skills for refugees and asylum seekers, including English language instruction and coaching for program participants; also skills development for enterprise or income-generating activities for improved livelihood and wellbeing. Additional interventions will be added to the program in due course.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead in implementing the program’s gender-responsive and participant-driven language, non-formal and accelerate education interventions
Effectively implement the program’s life skills interventions
Effective delivery of an intensive English, French and Kinyarwanda Language learning and coaching components
Develop and implement needed educational contents, processes and materials
Actively participate and guide on the identification of new program opportunities, needs and gaps, and support address as well as in the design of new related efforts
Support in co-curricular activities such as in sports, social activities, clubs, and learner groups, working collaboratively with the program’s Sports Facilitator
Responsible for all education components tracking, reporting, and documentation
REQUIRED SKILLS, BEHAVIORS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education from reputable university
Minimum of three years of direct experience in education delivery
Demonstrated experience in non-formal education design and delivery in low resource settings
Extensive knowledge of Rwanda country education system, policies, and strategies
Good command of Child Rights, Child Protection Policies
The capable communicator in English; including written
Conversance with French, Tigrinya and/or Arabic an added advantage
