Job summary; 

The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for the operational, tactical and strategic implementation of new technology solutions that improve business efficiency while meeting corporate business goals.

Key responsibilities;

  • Participate in requirement gathering/elicitation phase; and identify and define requirements, use cases, process flows, screen flows, and user interfaces.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Develop functional and non-functional requirements from business requirements document
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to write requirements and use cases
  • Communicate and conduct walkthrough sessions for product requirements to architects, engineers, development teams, product managers, testers, and other stakeholders
  • Maintain and manage the scope of requirements.
  • Traceability matrix
  • Work collaboratively with projects team members to design a solution that will meet the business requirements and fulfil user stories
  •  Collaborate with developers to test and verify that solutions will meet the business requirements
  • Keep critical project business analysis work on schedule
  • Responsible for translating the bank’s requirements into requirement specifications and  use Cases
  • Create templates for test cases, test scripts, and test criteria to validate all requirements
  • Great understanding in waterfall, Agile and SDLC methodologies
  • Very good communication skills is a must
  • Preferable with experience in the banking and/or Finance sectors
  • Good to have-Certification for Business Analysis (CCBA), good understanding of BABOK guide.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  •  At least a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field;
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role in the financial services sector; with at least two (2) years in a senior managerial capacity

Analyst Financial Inclusion and Education at National Bank of Rwanda: (Deadline 12 March 2022)

Job Summary;

Reporting to Manager, Financial Inclusion and Education. Analyst, Financial Inclusion’s role is to ensure financial inclusion and education strategies/policies /programmes/activities are implemented.
Key Responsibilities;

  • Compile, validate and disseminate supply-side financial inclusion data
  •  Undertake and disseminate research on financial inclusion in Rwanda that guide policy making
  • Take part in the design and implementation of the national financial inclusion strategy.
  • Coordinate the demand-side financial inclusion survey and other related surveys
  • Design and implement financial education campaigns for special segments of the population like the youth; rural women, the old, and people with disabilities on different themes
  • Engage policy makers, development partners and financial sector players on interventions to increase MSME financing
  • Coordinate BNR’s activities with stakeholders in financial inclusion and education space
  • Educate the general public about central banking business, its mandate and financial sector policies and legal frameworks
  • Engage and support the digitization of semi-formal saving and credit groups around the country
  • Engage financial services providers on innovative financial products to increase access of the excluded or underserved population
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • At least a Bachelor degree in Economics, Business Administration or related field
  • Three (3) years’ experience in the finance sector

Senior Data Engineer at National Bank of Rwanda: (Deadline 12 March 2022)

Job Summary;

The Data Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining data pipelines, APIs and containerize applications, as well as optimizing data flow and collection from diverse sources. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data softwares and building them from the ground up. The Senior Data Engineer will support our software developers, data base administrators, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data access for subsequent analysis and decision-making. They must be self-motivated and comfortable supporting colleagues whenever needs arise.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipelines and APIs .
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build software required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and big data technologies.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and key business performance metrics.
  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
  • Experience in software development or data engineering (3+ plus)
  • Expert proficiency of SQL is a must.

Compentencies;

  • Experience in designing and implementing databases that involve transactional datasets.
  • Experience building pipelines in at least Python or R, beneficial to have some knowledge of Java, C++, scala etc. but not necessary.
  • Exposure to Big Data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. beneficial
  • Experience with at least one type of relational SQL and NoSQL database: Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra and MongoDB.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: example Airflow, Azkaban, Luigi etc
  • Experience in writing technical documentation that include Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), data dictionaries and View Creations.
  • Strong communication skills to rely technical problems to the management team.
  • Knowledge of containerization such as Docker and Kubernetes a bonus.
