Head of International students Office
University of Kigali wishes to recruit Head of International students who will be responsible for marketing, admission and support activities for international students. He/she will oversee the development of strategies to achieve established enrolment goals which include development of correspondence, publications, and application forms for international students. He/she will act as liaison officer between international students and the university stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students regarding compliance with the policies and procedures, and plans and coordinates special events designed to enhance intercultural awareness within the University and the community.
- Promote university of Kigali brand keeping track of growth trends;
- Promote intercultural awareness within the University and the local community by assisting with planning and coordinating special cultural events and activities involving international students;
- Assist International students in effectively utilizing the resources of the University and providing leadership for the content and administration of the student orientation;
- Providing assistance to scholars and their dependents in obtaining appropriate non-immigrant status and work authorization.
- Ensure international student applications and admissions are processed accurately and promptly.
- Assists international students, faculty, and staff regarding compliance with the University policies and procedures by serving as a liaison between the students and the management
- Promotes intercultural awareness within the University and the local community by assisting with planning and coordination of special cultural events and activities involving international students.
- Facilitates the academic and personal success of international students by assisting them in effectively utilizing the resources of the University and providing leadership for the content and administration of the international student orientation.
- Oversees the provision of assistance to departments, faculty, staff, scholars, follow up on international students’ equivalences.
- Supports University of Kigali by representing the Division on committees which address
- Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
- Assist the international students to participate in community engagement activities: Sports, Knowledge sharing with communities, public talks, Community work (Umuganda).
Candidate needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public relations or any other relevant qualification from a recognized University. Master degree will be an added advantage
- Three years of direct experience in a setting up with an international, or culturally diverse, student body.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written skills in English, French and any other international languages.

FINANCE DIRECTOR
University of Kigali, wishes to recruit a Finance Director who will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, reporting on revenue, training accounting staff, budgeting, disbursing funds to departments, managing risk, implementing policies, and improving financial processes. He/she will oversee the University’s financial operations, creating a solid foundation upon which the University can financially grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the company’s financial commitments are met
- Developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the company’s business
- Direct and control finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed and so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
- Contribute to the achievement of the company’s business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
- Develop and control the company’s annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to the company’s managers and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of the company’s financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
- Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations.
- Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company.
- Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company.
- Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and legal obligations
- Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, Management, and clients in formal meetings.
Job requirements
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance or any other relevant field.
- Certified Public Accountant
- Previous working experience as Director of Finance for a period not less than 3 years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly advanced excel, and accounting packages
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills both oral and in writing.
- Strong analytical skills.

Candidate needed:

- MUST have Minimum of at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role (preferable in a learning institution) or any other complex organization.
- Proven experience creating targeted content is advantageous.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Good communication skills particularly, fluent in English.
