Community Capacity Building Coordinator

Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and developmental organization in General Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC operating in 40 countries around the world. GNI in Rwanda is legally registered and has endeavored to improve child sponsorship and protection, health, education, WASH, agriculture & livelihood, humanitarian assistance, advocacy, and social economy in 6 districts (Gasabo, Kamonyi, Gisagara, Nyamagabe, Nyaruguru, and Karongi).
Good Neighbors would like to recruit staff with the following positions:
1.Community Capacity Building Coordinator (1 person)
To be based in Head Office
General
Support community building for cooperatives and income-generating groups under Good Neighbors Rwanda (GNR).
Mainly the staff should work for the project funded by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) in Kamonyi District.
Detail
Support the establishing structure and systems like confirming the article and the committees’ role and responsibility.
Formation and Strengthening of Income generation Groups, Producer groups, and Community Level institutions and Facilitate community capacity building to promote and facilitate participatory development management for broad-based, equitable sustainable development.
Empower the leader groups through regular meetings and training.
Facilitate the exchange of information and experiences between income generation groups and cooperatives.
Conduct the training for related staff in cooperatives/groups and GNR.
Motivate the members to participate in activities through training and meetings.
Support the planning and establishing the strategies.
Monitor the activities of cooperatives/groups regularly.
Review and audit the activities of cooperatives/groups regularly.
Document and share lessons learned and best practices with networks
Strengthening community groups to become the Cooperatives.
Make the report and other administrative tasks related to the project on time.
Participate in all activities for staff, like annual training and meetings in GNR.
Qualifications and experience required
The candidate must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (A0), Fields of rural development, agriculture, social science, or related fields, with at least 3 years’ experience;
Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English;
Proven experience in community mobilization. Having experience in agriculture and/or rural development projects will be preferred
Aptitude for working with the rural community, youth and women groups,
Strong interpersonal, organizational, conflict resolution, and communication skills
Good computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and report writing skills.

2.Agri-business Coordinator (1 person)
To be based in Head Office
General
Support agro-business activities for cooperatives and income-generating groups under Good Neighbors Rwanda (GNR).
Detail
Support the establishing business plan and strategies of cooperatives/groups.
Conduct the consulting by analyzing all business process and results.
Promote value addition through local processing of produce (e.g. by supporting SME endeavors in investing in processing equipment);
Organize national market surveys/trade missions as appropriate to support traders/exporters in their search for new markets;
Identify potential small and medium enterprise (SME) agribusiness clients;
Find the visible market for each cooperative/group’s business.
Suggest the way to improve their business and find the solution for the main problems
Provide training to the leaders and related staff in cooperatives/groups for improving their business skills.
Provide training to the staff who are working for agro-business in GNR.
Monitor cooperatives/groups’ business regularly.
Audit the cooperatives/groups’ related documents and activities regularly.
Make the report and other administrative tasks related to the project on time.
Participate in all activities for staff, like annual training and meetings in GNR.
Qualifications and experience required
The candidate must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (A0), Agribusiness or related field, with at least 3 years’ experience.
Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English;
Knowledge of supply chain technical requirements (warehouse management//logistics//transport) is important; a sound knowledge of the national/regional market advisory services is required,
Working knowledge of national standards institutions and related legislative issues is a must
Private sector experience in agribusiness and trading of agricultural produce is an advantage
Strong interpersonal, organizational, conflict resolution, and communication skills

3. Position: SMART Project Community Capacity Building Coordinator(1)
To be based in Huye
Tasks and Responsibilities
Conduct training needs assessment and coordinate training in various issues including community leadership, adult literacy, etc.
Responsible for social mobilization, inclusion and gender, Community based group formation, and community level institutions at site level
Provide guidance and advice to the programs management team on technical issues of Advocacy and Gender mainstreaming in projects
Lead assessment and research activities at the community level to gather information and analysis on gender and advocacy issues.
Lead training workshops for relevant stakeholders, staff, and key actors on advocacy and Gender related topics
Track progress and provide data on gender and advocacy issues
Providing health advice and promoting healthy eating
Advising about special diets
Educating health professionals and the public about nutrition
Raise awareness within the community on other community development activities of the project
To check diverse programs in order to improve community people’s levels of understanding and participation for concepts of community development
To monitor regular field visits and have meetings with beneficiaries and stakeholder in order for checking, reporting, and submitting the procedure and progress of on-going projects to the Project Manager
To have a proper partnership with local government (officers) through improved communication skills and evaluation
To check efficiency, effectiveness, and impacts of programs/projects through regular monitoring and reporting based on written documentations relevant with M&E
To submit regular activity reports to his/her Manager,
To perform additional jobs assigned by the Country Director and/or Project Manager
Qualifications and experience required
The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Gender & Development Studies, rural development, social sciences, sociology, food science, and Nutrition or other related fields, with at least 4 years’ experience in related field;
Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English;
Proven experience in community mobilization;
Good computer skills (Microsoft word, Excel, powerpoint) and report writing skills.
Honest and transparent
Good communication and interpersonal skills
He/ she should be ready to travel to the field to the agriculture farms and Cooperatives in the rural areas

4. Position: SMART Project Accountant Officer (1)
To be based in Huye
Tasks and Responsibilities
Payment approval request preparation of the projects in charge
To manage bank accounts for project sites, check and record financial transactions.
To assist in monthly project budget analysis and financial report (cash journal).
To maintain financial security by following internal controls with confidentiality
To execute budget in a transparent way
To do filing regularly according to monthly activities
To prepare monthly vouchers
Monthly QuickBooks data transaction recording for projects in charge
Keeping the safety of office equipment and office materials.
Bank activities payment.
Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
To perform additional jobs assigned by the Country Director and/or Project Manager
Qualifications and experience required
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting;
Minimum of 2 years working experience in the field of Finance/Accounts, in a recognized institution, preferably with NGOs;
Must be able to use QuickBooks and MS Excel & Word
Proven experience of operating computerized accounting systems and coding systems.
Proven, extensive experience in financial statement preparation and reporting
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse organization
Excellent spoken and written English, Working knowledge of Kinyarwanda
