Devise, select, set up, and operate electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operational and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translate test data for engineering personnel to formulate engineering design and evaluation decisions;

  • Select, install, calibrate, and check sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry, and develop specifications for nonstandard apparatus according to engineering data, characteristics of equipment under test, and capabilities of procurable test apparatus.
  • Sketch and build or modify jigs, fixtures, instruments, and related apparatus, and verify. dimensional and functional acceptability of devices fabricated by craft or technical personnel.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
  • Install or direct technical personnel in the installation of a unit in a test chamber or other test facilities.
  • Operate test apparatus during test cycle to produce, regulate, and record effects of actual or simulated conditions, such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration.
  • Analyze and convert test data to usable form, using mathematical formulas, and prepare graphs and written reports to translate test results.

Education and experience requirements.

  • At least five years of experience in Driving in a medium-size company; preferably 3-year experience in the construction industry.
  • At least completed primary education
  • Driving license category: A,B,C,D,E,F

Skills and competencies required.

  • To be Rwandan by Nationality;
  • Be able to work under pressure.
  • Willing to work extended hours.
  • Strong inclination to root cause identification and problem-solving.
  • Proactive, self-disciplined, and solution-driven.

The company Operates a dry process technology Plant in Muganza Sector, Rusizi District in Western Province. As part of its localization and optimization plans the Company is recruiting professionals to fully optimize its production capacity and hence cater for the country’s growing demand for cement and that of the region.CIMERWA Ltd is looking for an experienced professional to fill the following vacant position.

Instrumentation Technician (6) Six Months Fixed Term Contract.

Key duties and responsibilities;

Reporting to the Instrumentation Engineer; the Employee’s obligations include but are not limited to the following;

  • Willing to work extended hours;
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Good ICT Reporting skills
  • A high level of English proficiency(Read; write, Speak) French; Kinyarwanda; or Swahili would be advantageous.

Laboratory Tester (1) one Year Fixed Term Contract.

Key duties and responsibilities;

Reporting to the Chemist; the Employee’s obligations include but not limited to the following;

  • Ensure that samples are collected as per the schedule and are accurately analyzed and that results are published/distributed in a timely manner.
  • Recognize and report on deviations in a timely manner.
  • Complete documentation accurately and in full.
  • Clean the lab area, shelves, and floor, ensure the workstation is clean and tidy at all times, and pick up any material lying around.
  • Ensure that laboratory test equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Provide input into the planning and review process (INVOCOM) where required.
  • Comply with work rules, standards and methods, take care to minimize waste.
  • Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues.
  • Complete Individual Development plant, attend learning and development courses, participate in peer and team learning initiatives.
  • Minimize risk, maintain minimum standards for SHERQ.
  • Carry out zealously with loyalty and faithfulness all the entrusted duties and   go wherever CIMERWA Ltd needs  his  services;
  • Do his utmost to use and keep safely the material given to him;

Education and experience requirements.

  • A degree in Chemistry – B.Sc in Chemistry or equivalent

  • Fit to perform strenuous work.
  • Basic computer literacy;
  • High level of English proficiency(Read; Write & Speak).
  • French; Kinyarwanda; or Swahili would be advantageous.
  • At least 1-3 years experience in data management, with demonstrable experience of having worked in a laboratory setting.

Skills and competencies required.

  • English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and Listening).
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the Cement manufacturing process.
  • Process and laboratory experience will be advantageous.
