The Rwanda Stock Exchange Limited was established with the objective of carrying out stock market operations. The Stock Exchange was officially launched on January 31st, 2011 and it is in the process of enhancing its operations and institutional capacity.
It is in this regard that Rwanda Stock Exchange intends to recruit a qualified and competent candidate for the following position:
Business Development Officer
Specific responsibilities
The Business Development Officer of the Rwanda Stock Exchange will play a pivotal role in promoting our exchange services to issuers, intermediaries and institutional investors. This is a key role focused on stakeholder engagement, market outreach, and fostering innovation in Rwanda’s capital markets. Detailed job specifications include:
Description of Duties
The Business Development Officer will undertake the following duties:
- To Identify and engage with prospective issuers, investors, brokers, and financial advisors to increase market participation.
- To Promote the listing of all capital market products on the RSE.
- To Develop and execute market development strategies aligned with the RSE’s growth goals and the Capital Market Master Plan.
- To Collaborate with regulatory bodies such as the Capital Market Authority (CMA) and other ecosystem partners to streamline onboarding processes and enhance market accessibility.
- To Conduct research and provide insights on trends in regional and international capital markets.
- To Support the preparation of business proposals, pitch decks, and reports for internal and external use..
- To perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, investment banking, financial advisory, or capital markets.
- Solid understanding of stock exchange operations, financial instruments, and the Rwandan regulatory framework.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and manage client relationships.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical standards.
