a.    Function summary

Account Manager of ASA Microfinance (Rwanda) Plc is the company focal person who analyzes business operations, deposit maturities, business trends, costs, revenues, financial commitment, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses.  He is immediately connected with the company key business executives and stakeholders and preparing financial reports.  Account Manager is also responsible for group reporting, local statutory and regulatory reporting, co-ordinate the internal and external auditors, answers all related cash flow queries, identify new business opportunities, inventory, deal with bank-related issues, etc.

b.    Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor and analyzing departmental work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high-level accuracy;
  2. Collaborate with the other departments in the organization to support overall department goals and objectives;
  3. To maintain liaison with banks and financial institutions regarding loans and assist in the daily banking requirements;
  4. To ensure the optimum utilization of funds and budget management.
  5. Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts);
  6. Overseeing and managing purchase-including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximize profit;
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department;
  8. Report to the Group within the prescribed timeline. Respond queries from the Group and prepare special reporting as required;
  9. Preparation and timely submission of statutory/regulatory reporting. Liaison with the respective Government Department, regulatory authority, submitting return and maintain proper compliance with them;
  10. Handle the company tax issues, pay taxes, statutory contributions and other withholding Tax i.e. RRA& RSSB;
  11. Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders;
  12. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and account status;
  13. Collaborate with operation and HR team to identify and grow opportunities within the territory;
  14. Facilitate internal and external Audit to access financial information in his/her administrative power;
  15. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions including treatment of Foreign currency transaction;
  16. Make monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner;
  17. To maintain all books of Accounts and record-keeping and reconcile the Accounts in a timely manner;
  18. To prepare a monthly trial balance, financial report and year-end to conducted an external audit to perform a yearly audit.
  19. Sometimes visit different branches when and as found necessary;

c.    Education

Holder of Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least CPA part 2 completed will get preference or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA/ACCA fully completed.

d.    Requirements – Skills, Knowledge, Abilities – for Account Manager 

The following abilities, knowledge, and skills are required to take up this position:

  • Proven working experience in similar positions not below five (5) years;
  • Solid experience and having a certificate of Modern Applied Banking Software and MS Office particularly MS Excel;
  • The ability of implementation of the group policy for the group reporting;

  1. Function summary

The Risk Officer, on one hand, is responsible for detecting and inspecting all possible risks that may end up impacting on our company’s financial success. His/her job description will be centered on utilizing analytical reports derived from assessing an ASA Microfinance PLC ’s risk profile to make recommendations to ASARW Plc Top Management Team on measures that can help mitigate business risks. On another side, s/he is a corporate executive responsible for identifying, analyzing and mitigating internal and external risks, risk assessments, fraud prevention and detecting signs of misappropriation. S/he may enforce compliance with regulatory rules and induce field financial workers to fulfill their obligations on reporting accurately to ASA Micro-banking System (AMBS).

Lastly, s/he is a focal person regarded with Social Performance Management (SPM) strategies that put clients at the center of all strategic and operational decisions by ASARW Plc institution.

b.    Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare risk report on a monthly basis covering risks related to the area of finance, operation, strategy, and compliance by analyzing operation report, internal audit report, Fraud Management Prevention Unit (FMPU) report and observations collected from field visits;
  2. Prepare Key Performance Indicators (KPI) report, risk heat map, risk appetite, and risk control matrix on a quarterly basis and provide insight regarding movement in risk factors related to portfolio, liquidity, exchange rate, cost reduction, growth, human resource, fraud, technology, product transparency, change in regulations and policies;
  3. Prepare reports and presentations for the board meeting on a quarterly or semi-annual basis, depending on the frequency of board meetings of the local board;
  4. Update Risk Management Framework and other policies of ASA International (ASAI) as and when required;
  5. Responding to the queries of different international lenders and stakeholders relating to risk management;
  6. Assess all related risks by conducting financial researches;
  7. Detect on time any risk that may threaten ASARW Plc business or commercial financial position;
  8. Calculate all risks related to business and transaction proposals;
  9. Employ computer programs related to statistical analysis for proper risk assessment and analysis;
  10. Formulate contingency plans for the organization and making helpful recommendations to the ASARW Plc on risk coverage;
  11. Provide professional assistance to the financial and economic team of the organization;
  12. A monthly basis report to be sent to the Managing Director, and to Holding Office (Dhaka) according to the standard format.
  13. Complete verification of at least 50% groups of each LO if there is any sign of misappropriation or fraud;
  14. Visit some default borrowers’ residence, guarantor and business workplaces;
  15. He/she is equally expected to develop strategies that will help the organization to minimize risk as well as maximize rewards;

  4. Willing to ride a bicycle from day 1, where it is possible to ride;
  5. Having a motorcycle driving license and willing to ride a motorcycle after 6 months to 1 year of joining.
  6. Quick learner and influential person;
  7. Honest, polite and interpersonal character;
  8. Well organized, self-confident, timekeeper and accountable;

Able to work in any district of Rwanda;
