About BRALIRWA’s Management Traineeship

The Management Trainee is a targeted 12 to 18 months program committed to cultivating and developing future leaders. The program is designed to challenge and grow individuals through a series of core components including on-the-job training, online learning, formal leadership classes, and other avenues for learning. We hope to inspire a purpose-driven career and look forward to Five (5) exceptional young talents joining the program.

The management trainee program is a great learning experience designed for our senior leaders of tomorrow. To win and succeed, you will require taking full ownership of this journey and to enjoy a wide range of challenges across different disciplines of your area of business.

QUALIFICATIONS and Experiences

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Management. Master’s Degree is desirable
  • For Supply Chain, minimum Bachelor Degree in  Engineering, Must have
  • Zero to 2 years of professional working experience maximum.
  • Fluent in English (French is an added advantage)
  • Must be under age 30

  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office
  • Must be an analytical thinker and focused

BRALIRWA Plc is looking for a qualified, dedicated & experienced Brand Manager,  Innovative and great communicator to join our passionate Marketing Professionals. As Brand Manager you will be based in Kigali, reporting to the Brand Portfolio Manager.

JOB PURPOSE

Develop and implement for the assigned brands the long-term brand strategies and integrated marketing plan for the assigned brand(s) in line with the company, regional and global marketing strategies. Realize the operating targets and marketing objectives by optimizing innovation, brand activation, pricing, sponsorships, brand communications and people development. Responsible for market share and profitability (Gross Profit Net) of assigned brands in line with portfolio strategy.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

  • Leading the creation of consumer-driven brand strategies:
    • Consumer and market insights, roles of assigned brands in the portfolio, contribute to BWP processes, brand architecture and global marketing rules and guidelines
    • Competitive strategy review to define implications and learning:
  •  Defining marketing strategies to grow the assigned brands
    • Consumer price point index, packaging, product, brand positioning, brand communications, sponsorships, consumer promotions and resources requirement
  • Sparring and supporting other functional managers in strategy development:
    • Long-term strategy and operation policies in sales and trade marketing

Planning

  • Leading the yearly development process of the plans for the assigned brands:
  • Target setting, ATL/ BTL budget development, 360-degree communication plan, brand activities calendar, activation plans
  • Championing the communication and alignment processes with key stakeholders to take strategies to an action plan:
    • Agency briefing and management, internal approval from marketing manager, alignment with key stakeholders at the operating environment.

Execution

  • Secure excellent execution of the brand plans:
    • Delivering brand activation programs as planned
    • Setting KPIs for brand programs together with senior brand manager
    • Keeping ATL / BTL spending within a budget
  • Directing and managing agency partnerships to deliver brand strategies:
    • Briefing, supervising and evaluating agency partners to execute brand programs
  • Challenging and supporting cross functions in execution
    • Channel promotions and customer management programs.

Monitoring/reporting

  • Using measurement to drive brand performance:
    • Track, evaluate and use qualitative and quantitative research to define opportunities and issues for the portfolio and individual brands
    • Regularly review with other functions on key performance indicators for learning and improvement opportunities
  • Tracking, analyzing and using financial information to maximize return on brand investment:
    • Using P&L, ABC costing, GP net by brands and by SKUs to review and decide brand strategies
    • Coaching and challenging team to evaluate ROI of key brand programs
  • Getting insights from market, media and consumers trends.

People

  • Drive organizational development and personal development:
    • People coaching, performance management, personal development.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing management or Economics.
  • 3 -5 years minimum in brand management or trade marketing
  • Good computer proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office packages-Word & Excel
  • Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda (both verbally and in writing), and French will be added advantage
  • Having people management skills
