Recruitment for Teacher for AIMPO’s early childhood development centre: (Deadline 31st  May 2022)

African Initiative for Mankind Progress Organization (AIMPO) was established in 2001 in Kigali, Rwanda. It is a non-governmental organisation that advances the rights and interests of Historically Marginalised People and other vulnerable communities in Rwanda.

AIMPO recently built a new learning Centre for children aged (3-6) in Gicumbi. It intends to create a child-centred learning centre based on the Montessori method (adapted for rural communities with limited resources and teaching staff).

AIMPO now wishes to recruit a Kinyarwanda/English-excellent speaking staff for the early childhood school.AIMPO hopes to fill the below vacant positions with qualified, experienced, talented, capable and dedicated individuals to join the team to make a difference.  The successful candidate will receive intensive training in the Montessori philosophy and teaching methods (both in-class and online). Training will include creating and operating a Montessori classroom and making equipment. The positions’ details are outlined below:

1.ECD teacher Job opportunity

School: AIMPO Montessori community preschool 

Vacancy title: ECD teacher

Type of contract: Full Time

Job location: Gicumbi district – Byumba sector 

 

Duties and responsibilities

·       Design and follow a complete teaching plan;

· Teach alphabet and numeracy along with personal, social and emotional skills;

·       Organize learning material and resources;

·   Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities;

· Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information;

· Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills regularly

·       Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing;

·       Cooperate with administration staff

·       Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations

·       Live in the area where the school is located/Gicumbi district.

 

Candidate Qualifications

·The candidate must be a woman and have enough experience in the Montessori pedagogical approach

·Must hold a High school diploma or a Diploma in Education/Early childhood development or related field

·Ability to work independently, self-organised, have initiative, fulfil commitments and meet deadlines.

·       At least three years of teaching experience

·       Excellent command of English orally,

·       Loving children, the real motivation to work with small children,

·       Sense of organisation, patience and availability,

2.ECD headteacher (Fluent in English).

ECD headteacher Job opportunity

School: AIMPO Montessori community preschool 

Vacancy title: ECD headteacher

Type of contract: Full Time

Job location: Gicumbi district – Byumba sector 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·Lead a team of teachers (of varying experience and abilities) in all aspects of educational excellence and provide for their continuing development through regular assessments, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities;

· Work with the educational experts to develop the school’s structure and systems ensuring they are of the highest standards;

· Seek constant improvement in both delivery and cost-effectiveness of educational provision at AIMPO Montessori community preschool

·Implement new systems and procedures to ensure a high-quality learning environment;

· Ensure all existing and new systems are functioning and sustainable;

·  Motivate the teaching staff to develop a good work ethos in conjunction with monitoring the quality of learning to ensure the highest teaching standards are being maintained;

· Seek new strategies for effective classroom management and ways to promote effective learning/teaching methods;

·Advise and assist in the development of both a short and long-term preschool development plan;

·Supervise the creation of a comprehensive computerised student profile database;

·       Identify ways in which to involve family/community in school life.

·       Can use computers, email, Microsoft Office

·       Live in the area where the school is located/Gicumbi district.

Candidate Qualifications

· The candidate must be either woman or a man that have enough experience in the Montessori pedagogical approach

· Must hold a High school diploma or a Diploma in Education/Early childhood development or related field

· Ability to work independently, self-organised, have initiative, fulfil commitments and meet deadlines.

·    At least three years as a teacher/Being headteacher is an added value

·       Excellent command of English orally,

·       Loving children, the real motivation to work with small children,

·       Sense of organisation, patience and availability,
