Aim and Benefits of Flinders University Regional and Rural Student Scholarship
The scholarship is valued at $7,500 per annum for up to four years. The scholarship will be paid in instalments of $3,750 each semester subject to the recipient maintaining eligibility.

Requirements for Flinders University Regional and Rural Student Scholarship Qualification
Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident of Australia or permanent humanitarian visa holder; and
- Be applying via SATAC to commence an eligible undergraduate course in STEM focussing on the defence industry at Flinders University as a Commonwealth Supported student; and
- Have their first preference to an eligible Flinders course; and
- Have completed year 12 in the year prior to commencing University study; and
- Be a permanent resident of South Australia or the Northern Territory; and
- Be in receipt of means-tested government payments, or can demonstrate financial hardship or be from a Low SES school*.and
- Have a permanent home address in Inner or Outer Regional, Remote or Very Remote Australia as defined by the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC) classifications 2-5.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be awarded based on academic merit, using the applicant’s university entrance score. Selection of the candidate(s) will be made at the same time as the main round of University admission offers in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Student Administration based on SATAC application data If the scholarship quota is not filled in the main round of offers, the University may decide to offer scholarships to students in subsequent rounds.(Note, the main round is usually held in the January of the admission year).
