University of Tokyo Research Internship Program (UTRIP) 2024 in Japan (Deadline: 9 January 2024)

For applicants enrolled in a bachelor’s program and having finished their first year of study in a natural science field or any related field, UTRIP is a short-term summer program in Japan. Applicants will acquire real graduate school life or research-centered life experiences and knowledge at the University of Tokyo for the duration of this program. The Graduate School of Science research supervisor will collaborate closely with the applicants. In addition, candidates will acquire the necessary experience by taking part in Japanese cultural events, going on research trips to historical or natural sites in Japan, networking with current Tokyo University students, and more.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applications are open for the University of Tokyo Summer Internship from international students worldwide.
• However, students at an accredited college or university outside of Japan who are currently enrolled in their second year or higher are eligible for the internship.
• At the time of application, each applicant had to have finished one full year of a bachelor’s degree program.
• Candidates who are expected to be in their second year of a three-year bachelor’s program or third year of a four-year bachelor’s program will be given preference in the selection process. Four-year program students in their second year are also encouraged to apply.
• For students to be eligible for the UTRIP Summer Internship Program, they must also be enrolled in a natural science or a related field.
• They ought to be motivated to pursue long-term professional objectives in the scientific domain.
• In a similar vein, candidates must pledge to devote themselves to full-time participation for the full six weeks of the UTRIP program, which runs from June 26 to August 6, 2024.
• For UTRIP internships, test results from the TOEFL or an equivalent English proficiency test (like IELTS) must be submitted if English is not the applicant’s first language.
