CHB is inviting highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Finance Assistant Intern. Based at our Head Office in Kigali, this internship offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to our mission of empowering youth and enhancing community health.
Job Summary:
Finance Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day finance and accounting functions of CHB. This role involves ensuring proper documentation, timely preparation of payment vouchers, dispatching cheques to staff/vendors, submitting accurate accountabilities, and adhering to CHB policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires close collaboration with the accounting firm to track and liquidate partner advances, staff, and travel advances for month-end reports.
Reports to: Finance Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and adhere to CHB finance policies and procedures.
- Receive and review all financial documents.
- Prepare requisition forms, payment vouchers, and supporting documents.
- Ensure all vouchers are approved by the respective authorities.
- Submit accountabilities in accordance with CHB policy & procedures.
- Maintain a proper filing system for all financial documents.
- Record all disbursements and receipts transactions in the accounting records.
- Prepare support documents for periodic reports.
- Submit weekly cash receipt reports.
- Ensure compliance with CHB policies/procedures and Donor requirements.
- Administer petty cash and maintain adherence to financial standards.
- Manage office safe, securely locking in important documents and petty cash.
- Participate in annual budget development and management.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Education and Experience:
- University degree in Finance or Accounting; part qualification of any professional course ACCA, CPA, CAT, is an added advantage.
- Fresh graduate or awaiting graduation.
- Demonstrable knowledge of donor financial/accounting procedures, IFRS, budget monitoring & auditing.
- Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, and experience with accounting software.
Communication Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial documents. Proficient in report writing and effective communication.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and reconcile accounts.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ethical and confidential handling of finance and HR information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT literacy and proficiency with accounting packages.
- Proactive attitude and strong initiative.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Summary:
The Program Associate Intern, will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of CHB’s programs. Working closely with program managers, he/she will assist in coordinating activities, conducting research, and monitoring project progress. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in program management and community development.
Reports to: Program Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of program plans and timelines.
- Support the coordination of program activities, including workshops, training sessions, and community events.
- Conduct research to inform program design and identify best practices.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating program outcomes, collecting data, and preparing reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and sustainability.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and managing program documentation.
- Perform other tasks assigned by his/her supervisor
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of funding proposals and donor reports.
- Assist in conducting needs assessments and stakeholder consultations.
- Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing and capacity-building activities within the organization.
- Represent CHB at meetings, workshops, and conferences as required.
- Assist in the preparation of communication materials, including presentations and briefs.
Education and Experience:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Passion for community health, youth empowerment, or social change.
- Previous experience in program management or community engagement is an asset.

Job Summary:
Communication Officer Intern, will play a vital role in supporting CHB’s communication efforts. He/she will assist in crafting compelling messages, managing digital platforms, and engaging with diverse stakeholders. Additionally, he/she will collaborate closely with the Communication Manager to ensure consistency and effectiveness in our communication strategies.
Reports to: Communication Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to establish project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective solutions to ensure timely completion of requests.
- Prepare project status reports and presentations, highlighting key accomplishments, challenges, and next steps.
- Contribute to the development of written content for various purposes, including reports, proposals, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Conduct research and gather relevant information to support content creation efforts.
- Edit and proofread written materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Assist in the creation and management of content calendars and editorial schedules.
- Support the creation and dissemination of communication materials, including Infographics, posters, social media content, newsletters, and press releases.
- Assist in managing CHB’s digital platforms, including website updates and social media channels.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather content and information for communication purposes.
- Conduct research to support communication initiatives and stay informed about industry trends.
- Assist in organizing events, workshops, and campaigns to promote CHB’s mission and activities.
- Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to amplify CHB’s message and reach.
- Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor
Education and Experience:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- Demonstrated interest in health promotion, youth empowerment, or social change.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear and engaging content.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or photography is a plus.
Communication Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in report writing and effective communication.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ethical and confidential handling of sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative.
- Proficiency in at least two official languages spoken in Rwanda but, English is a must
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with communication software/tools.
