This program is open to all students from all nationalities. For the IMF Internship 2025, approximately 50 students from around the world will join at IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. The IMF FIP is a 10-12 week paid internship between June and September 2025. To be eligible for the IMF FIP, you must be enrolled as a student in any university around the world. Duration of the IMF FIP

Successful applicants will undertake a 10-12 week paid internship between June and September 2025. The exact dates will be decided later with the interns.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the IMF Fund Internship Program, you must meet the basic criteria:

PhD students:

  • Be within one to two years of completing a PhD in macroeconomics or a related field.
  • Be in student status at the time of the internship.
  • Age below 32.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and computer skills.

  • University Transcript or Student Status Letter

Visa Requirements for the IMF Internship

If you are not a citizen of the United States or you do not have any other work authorization in the USA, you will need a G4 visa. The IMF will provide the paperwork necessary to facilitate your G4 visa request with U.S. authorities.
