The Management of Trinity Nyakabingo, on behalf of Trinity Metals Ltd, informs the public that it is recruiting a Competent, Qualified and Experienced Staff for the position of:

POSITION: CORPORATE FINANCE SPECIALIST (1)

  5. Job Brief:

The Corporate Finance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the systems implementation and other finance related improvement projects, formulating the required policies and procedures to ensure governance and assessing the compliance with the relevant policies and procedures, reviewing capital applications in conjunction with the site Finance Managers and Controller, capital allocation and budgeting processes, and reviewing investment opportunities. This role ensures compliance with the company’s policies and procedures and financial regulations.

This role will also support the business strategy through the organic and inorganic growth processes. This will include valuations, support of new businesses including the: due diligence; negotiations; transaction structuring; as well as legal closeout, and funding. The role will also support the equity and debt capital markets funding plans to deliver on the Group’s strategy.

Financial Governance:

  • Development of the necessary Finance policies and procedures coherent with the IAS standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the approved Delegation of Authority (DOA) and other related policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to operations on the applicable policies and procedures.

System and other Finance related improvement projects

  • Identifying gaps in Finance process and systems
  • Act as the Project Manager of Finance system implementation
  • Monitor the project implementation from design to implementation stage.
  • Ensure the system supports financial operations and reporting requirements.
  • Provide training and support to users to ensure effective system utilization.

Responsibilities: Corporate Finance Specialist has the following responsibilities and duties:

Capital Application:

  • Assist the operations in reviewing the Capital Application (CA) assisting in the calculation of financial/economic justifications

Annual Budget and Business Plan (BP) Process Implementation:

  • Oversee the annual budgeting process and business planning cycle.
  • Ensure that budgets and business plans align with organizational goals.

Support business strategy:

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to support operational and strategic needs.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance and efficiency in mining operations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
  • Provide assistance on evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Understanding the market fundamentals/drivers for the transaction
  • Due diligence oversight
  • Optimal transaction structuring taking into consideration the specifics of the jurisdiction
  • Legal closeout including sign-off on the legal agreements, condition precedent and transaction closing
  • Making recommendations (and presenting) to the New Business Committee and the Board on transactions in progress
  • Post-transaction closeout
  • Input into the business planning for post-transaction implementation
  • Assistance with the equity and debt capital market requirements of the group

Assists the site Finance team as necessary

  • Perform any other non-operational duty as might be assigned by the Supervisor or Leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • Professional Certification CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA
  • Minimum of 7 years PQE (post qualifying experience).
  • Previous Team Management experience.
  • Strong understanding of International & Rwanda’s accounting standards, taxation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial documents
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Knowledge base:

  • Fundamentals of corporate finance
  • Valuation methodologies including financial covenant determination
  • Commercial law understanding specifically security arrangements
  • Mining industry generalist understanding
  • Stock exchange regulatory environment
  • Exchange controls understanding

  • Self-motivated.

  • Ability to work under pressure and take initiative.
  • Objective and decisive.
  • Proficient in report writing.

  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and industry practice.
