Applications are open for the Social Justice Partners LA Systems Change Fellowship 2025–2026. The Systems Change Fellowship supports LA-based nonprofit initiatives led by those with lived experience of the systemic issues they’re tackling. The program focuses on peer-learning and relationship building, connecting as a part of the interwoven landscape of social justice in Los Angeles. Their cohort members tackle a wide range of interconnected systemic issues through policy advocacy, narrative and culture shift, and building power.
The 2025-26 cohort will present their stories at SJPLA’s 2026 Story of Us LA, inviting hundreds of guests to join their work towards a more just and loving Los Angeles. The event comes at the end of a ten-week training process supported by SJPLA coaches.
Benefits
Each cohort member is offered:
- $10,000 unrestricted grant, plus more raised through the SJPLA network.
- Peer support, and pro-bono coaching.
- SJPLA’s signature Story of Us LA training with a professionally filmed video and a platform at our annual event.
- Expanded network of supporters, including nonprofit leaders, funders, and donors.
- Increased exposure through SJPLA’s network and being an important part of the SJPLA community after their program ends. They continue to be a touchstone and support for alum from years past.
Eligibility
Organizational Requirements
- Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or have fiscal sponsorship.
- Strong preference for organizations based in or serving Los Angeles County.
- Must have a systems change focus (e.g., shifting policy, power, or public narratives), not direct services.
Applicant Requirements
- Must be Executive Director, Program Director, or equivalent leader with significant decision-making power.
- Must live or work in Los Angeles County.
- Must have direct, lived experience with the issue their organization addresses.
- Must commit to attending all program sessions.
