Applications are now open for Innovate4DigiJobs 2025, an innovation challenge designed to boost youth employment in Rwanda’s rapidly growing digital economy. Organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with the Rwanda ICT Chamber, Innovate4DigiJobs seeks to identify and support innovative solutions that empower young people with skills, opportunities, and resources for decent work.
Selected projects will receive financial support ranging from USD 10,000 to USD 50,000 to implement initiatives that contribute meaningfully to Rwanda’s digital transformation and youth employment goals.
About Innovate4DigiJobs
Innovate4DigiJobs focuses on accelerating Rwanda’s digital growth by fostering entrepreneurship, social innovation, and skills development among young people. The initiative is built on the recognition that digital technologies are reshaping industries and labor markets, and that targeted innovation can create new avenues for decent work.
By supporting locally led solutions, Innovate4DigiJobs aims to create sustainable employment pathways, particularly in regions and communities where opportunities for young people are limited. The challenge is a direct contribution to Rwanda’s ambition to become a knowledge-based economy while ensuring that digitalization promotes inclusive economic development.
Focus Areas
Innovate4DigiJobs invites proposals under two main thematic areas:
- Skills for Decent Jobs in the Digital Economy: Projects that build the digital competencies, technical skills, and soft skills necessary for young people to access and thrive in digital jobs.
- Business Development Services for Entrepreneurs: Initiatives that offer support for young entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, access to digital tools, and market linkages, strengthening their ability to create and sustain businesses in the digital sector.
Organizations can propose solutions that cut across education, technology, business support, and employment creation, provided they clearly demonstrate a pathway to decent work for youth.
