Fellowship Overview

Selected fellows will spend six months at UC Davis, one of the world’s leading universities in food, agricultural, and environmental sciences. They will immerse themselves in translational research and commercialization activities, learning directly from top researchers, entrepreneurs, and venture capital investors.

Eligible Nationalities

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Must be a Postdoctoral researcher employed at a Danish university.
  2. PhD must have been completed within the past five years.
  3. Background in:
  4. Food Science, Technology, or Engineering
  5. Biotechnology and Biosolutions
  6. Agricultural Sciences
  7. Nutrition and Metabolic Health
  8. Planetary or Environmental Health
  9. Computational/Data Science (applied to relevant fields)
  10. Must be able to obtain a U.S. visa for a 6-month stay.
  11. International researchers at Danish universities are eligible.

Application Procedure

Timeline for the California-Denmark Innovator Fellowship

  1. January – February 2026:
  2. Danish fellows connect with UC Davis fellows visiting Denmark, participate in local events, and build their professional network.
  3. February 2026 – June 2026:
  4. Danish fellows relocate to UC Davis to engage in technical research, commercialization activities, and innovation training.
  5. June 2026:
  6. UC Davis fellows return from Denmark and reconnect with Danish fellows at UC Davis for joint activities and networking.
  7. July 2026:
  8. Final Colloquium Event held in California, where all fellows present their research outcomes, startup ideas, and shared experiences.4
