SPAIN 2025: Barcelona Model European Parliament (Funded) Deadline: 23 May, 2025

An exciting opportunity for 150 young people from all over Europe who are passionate about European Politics, diplomacy, or international affairs to apply for the “Barcelona Model European Parliament 2025,” which will take place in Spain, Barcelona, from 23rd to 25th May 2025. Equipo Europa organizes the event with support from the European Union and the Catalan Foreign Ministry. The organizers will provide accommodation and lunch meals during the event days.

About Equipo Europa

Equipo Europa is a community of young people who believe in a united, democratic, and fair Europe. It’s a non-profit, non-partisan youth association made up of members aged 14 to 30, all inspired by the values at the heart of the European Union, like equality, freedom, and respect for human rights.

The story began with a simple idea sparked by a European Parliament campaign to get more young people voting in the EU elections. Nine passionate Eurofans came together from that spark, and that’s how Equipo Europa was born. Today, Equipo Europa is a growing movement of young Europeans working to bring the EU closer to its citizens.

About the Barcelona Model European Parliament

The Barcelona Model European Parliament (b·meup25) is a unique, three-day simulation where 150 young people from across Europe act as Members of the European Parliament, debating real-world topics in committees, just like in Brussels. The event is organized by Equipo Europa with support from the European Union and the Catalan Foreign Ministry. The debate topics will include the following:

– Post-conflict relations and foreign policy: EU–Syria

– Women’s roles in post-conflict scenarios

– Strategic energy autonomy

– Promotion of digital literacy

– Extended producer responsibility

– Review of the EU’s budget (2025-2027)

In addition to committee sessions, the event will feature high-level keynote talks and interactive roundtables, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with leading experts and diverse voices.

The social component of the event is equally important: participants will enjoy cultural and recreational activities designed to foster personal connections and build international networks, such as a guided visit to the Barcelona City Hall.
