Accountant at NYAMPINGA Cooperative: (Deadline 19 May 2025)
Purpose of the Role
To ensure accurate financial reporting, effective control over accounting processes, and compliance with relevant laws, internal policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- Oversee payment processing that ensures excellent service delivery to clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of all financial transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Analyze financial performance and variances from budget or forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial laws, internal policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Develop and maintain effective internal control systems.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience and has experience in financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g: QuickBooks Enterprise).
- Strong skills in Ms Word, excel and PowerPoint.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
