Flinders University Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM 2025: (Deadline 1 September, 2025)

The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering’s (ATSE) Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM will award up to 500 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships over six years to women in STEM. The Elevate Program aims to address gender inequities in STEM through fostering more women-led industry-academia collaborations in applied research and business, growing professional skills of women in STEM and propelling women into leadership.

Aim and Benefits of Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM

Elevate provides:

  • A generous scholarship
    • Undergraduate category – up to $30,000 over up to 3 years
    • Postgraduate category – up to $150,250 over up to 3.5 years
    • Leadership category – up to $70,000 over up to 2 years
  • Access to skill building workshops
  • Access to peer mentoring and networking events
  • Access to 24/7 wellbeing and psychosocial support

Requirements for Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM Qualification

Applicants are required to meet three eligibility criteria:

  • Identify as a woman or non-binary person
  • Be enrolling as a domestic student at an Australian University.
  • Be planning to undertake a STEM degree or higher degree to improve business acumen (Leadership category only), commencing in 2026.

Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged. Diversity and inclusion considerations, and consideration of career disruptions and achievements relative to opportunity will guide the selection process. Applicants will be given the option to share how they identify and their individual journey and circumstances. All applicants will be considered for scholarships even if they do not disclose how they identify.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM

Eligible applications will be assessed by an expert selection committee consisting of STEM leaders with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences who are representative of the STEM ecosystem. The panel will review the applicant’s responses and discipline of study and will consider the diversity of applicants.

This selection committee will be responsible for recommending applicants for Elevate scholarships.
