TERMS OF REFERENCE TO SUPPLY START-UP TOOLKITS & WORKSHOP CONSUMABLES FOR TVET-BiWe PARTNERSHIP PROJECT IN RWANDA

SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda focuses on building loving and caring families for children and enabling the community to address challenges that can lead to the separation of children from their families.

When children grow up “alone”, without the love and support of a parent or any other stable caregiver, they face a great risk of discrimination, neglect, abuse, and abandonment. They are more likely to be deprived of opportunities to learn, mature, and develop life skills to become contributing members of society for the next generations. Over the past 40 years, SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda has consistently invested in the future of the children. We continue to support the Government of Rwanda’s efforts and believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress.

Since 2017, SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda started targeted interventions for Youth Empowerment. The “TVET-BiWe Partnership” project contributes to Rwanda’s Education Sector Strategic Plan goal increased equitable access to relevant, high-quality, demand-driven TVET programs.
In Kayonza and Gicumbi Districts, the project supports youth with short-term courses at the level I in the trades of Welding and Tailoring. Then, graduates get start-up kits to make their own businesses through the cooperative.

Whereas in Kigali Location, youth undergo vocations of Plumbing and Welding in a dual system model on certificate level III.

It is against that background, that start-up tool kits will be provided to 60 young graduates in Tailoring (20 at Kayonza, 40 at Gicumbi) and 21 in Welding at Kayonza. Also, consumables and tools will be equipped in plumbing and welding workshops at Kigali in the interest of 40 students under the dual program, respectively at SOS Technical High School Kagugu and Chillington Rwanda Ltd Gikondo.

The assignment

SOS CVs Rwanda is seeking the services of a competent company to supply the tools and consumables listed below.

• Requirements

1. Previous experience in supplying TVET start-up tool kits and workshop consumables of different trades including welding and tailoring (submit at least 2 certificates of completion)
2. Registration certificate as a supplier issued by RDB and incorporated in Rwanda Revenue Authority under TIN/VAT.

• Expected outputs

1. Supply and delivery of various items as listed in table below
2. Ensuring that the supplied items respect the provided specifications.

• Duration of the assignment

The supply and delivery of all items at the mentioned locations must be completed within seven working days from the signature of the contract.

• List of start-up tool kits & workshop consumables and tools

Enclosed envelops to the National Office of SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda located at Kacyiru not later than 11^th August 2020 at 10:00 am. The opening of offers will be on the same date from 10:30 am.

Please note that a company is allowed to bid for only one lot, and if a company bids for more than one lot, the quotations should be in separate envelops. Confirmation of samples prior to supply is required.
