ITM Africa is assisting a 3 Star hotel facility, in the recruitment of a Housekeeping supervisor.
Location: Rusizi, Western Province
What you will do:
HOUSEKEEPING TASKS
- Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
- Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area
- Making beds and changing linens
- Cleaning windows
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
- Sweeping/vacuuming, polishing, and mopping hard floors
- Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry
- Ironing clothing items
- Using any cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other cleaning tools
- Keeping bathrooms stocked with clean linens, toiletries, and other supplies
- Cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces
- Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste
- Steaming and cleaning draperies
- Washing blinds
- Tidying up rooms
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed
- Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements
SUPERVISORY TASKS
- Supervising and training Housekeeping staff
- Developing staff schedules to clean designated areas
- Ordering cleaning supplies and equipment
- Working with hotel guests who have specific housekeeping needs
- Coordinating housekeeping needs with other hotel department managers
- Keep worker morale high and ensure that safety procedures are obeyed.
- Prepare occupancy reports
- Keep records of housekeeping items and regularly assess & report on their condition
You will be the right fit if you have:
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Professional experience as housekeeper for several years.
- At least a high school diploma or its equivalent, preferably bachelor’s degree

Waiter/Waitress at ITM Africa Ltd: ( Deadline 3 December 2020)
ITM Africa is assisting a 3 Star hotel facility, in the recruitment of a waiter/waitress.
Location: Rusizi, Western Province
What you will do
- Greet and escort customers to their tables
- Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
- Inform customers about the day’s specials
- Offer menu recommendations upon request
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate
- Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
- Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
- Serve food and drink orders
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
- Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
- Deliver checks and collect bill payments
- Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
- Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
- Follow all relevant health department regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to guests
You will be the right fit if you have:
- Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
- Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
- Attentiveness and patience for customers
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Team spirit
- Flexibility to work in shifts
- High school diploma; food safety training is a plus
- Fluency in English with a good knowledge of French and Swahili

What you will do:
- Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations
- Taking/reading orders from wait staff or computerized system
- Cooking order according to food health and safety standards
- Handling multiple food orders at one time
- Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive
- Dressing order for presentation
- Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides
- Delivering food order to wait staff in a timely manner
- Storing all food properly
- Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils
- Reordering stock and food supplies
You will be the right fit if you have:
- A high school degree or equivalent in food production
- Good knowledge in pastries
- Ability to learn , preferably by himself new recipes
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
- Self-motivation and and self-directed
- Ability to work well as part of a team and on individual tasks
- Ability to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
- Ability work early mornings, nights, and weekends
