BIREAN – Call for Academic partners in East Africa: (Deadline 16 April 2021)
The BIREAN programme is a pan-African research initiative that aims to produce
high-quality Africa-led neuroscience research
We are looking for academic partners in East Africa to join our network as we are applying for funding to conduct a large-scale randomised controlled trial (RCT) in East Africa on neurofeedback therapy. The RCT study will follow a recent pilot study in Rwanda in which we demonstrated the efficacy of a low-cost neurotech headset to deliver neurofeedback to reduce PTSD symptom severity.

A dedicated online BIREAN information event will be hosted on April 16, 2021 featuring keynote talks on neurotechnology research, and a demonstration of the low-cost electroencephalography (EEG) wearable headset, the FlexEEG. You will also be invited to participate in initial, preparatory research activities.
