Business Development Officer at Britam: (Deadline 11 February 2022)
Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for ensuring all businesses are renewed and all Tenders are submitted with accuracy and on time in order to grow Britam portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive renewals (Policy and Premium counts) and achieve targets as defined under the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Personal Scorecard (PSC);
- Ensure renewal notices for corporate companies are prepared and shared with all clients and their intermediaries in time
- Ensure reminder SMSs are sent to all clients in time
- Ensure initial calls are made to all clients to strengthen the relationship with the clients and to confirm they are renewing with Britam at the expiry date
- Monitor Renewal list of the current month and previous months to ensure renewal budgets are achieved and initiate planned activities to rectify when necessary;
- Manage and leverage internal relationships to deliver a comprehensive, competitive and quality service experience to all renewing clients;
- Communicate clients’ expectations and provide insights back to the business to deliver competitively on a product or process;
- Promote cross-selling to our existing clients.
- Ensure all Tenders are well prepared with accuracy and they are submitted on time in collaboration with the line Manager
- Participate in Tender opening and other relevant procedures to ensure business comes to Britam
- Carry out market intelligence aimed at identifying new business opportunities and strategies in consultation with relevant departments;
- Prospecting and implementing value proposition to retain and grow our portfolio
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly as well as accurate reports;
- Facilitate Team working and knowledge sharing.
Key Performance Measures
- Achievement of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual renewal targets
- Submitting all Tenders and Winning of Tenders
- Ability to manage all Corporate and Retail clients
- Ability to work and collaborate with the Sales team
- Providing reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually
Working Relationships
Internal Relationships:
- Accountable to the Head of Business Development
- Required to liaise and work closely with the other business heads as may be necessary
External Relationships:
- Regulatory Authorities
- Insurance sector players
- All Brokers and Sales agents
- All Britam customers
- All Banks
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Business, Social Sciences or related subjects
- A diploma in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
- Computer Literacy in MS Office Suite of packages.
- At least Three (3) year experience in customer relations.
