Introduction 

Inades-Formation Rwanda is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under Rwandan law. It belongs to a pan-African network, Inades-Formation, which is currently established in ten countries: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo (DRC), Ivory Coast, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Chad, Togo. Inades-Formation is the common name of “African Institute for Economic and Social Development – ​​African Training Center”. Inades-Formation Rwanda was created in 1976. It obtained legal personality by Ministerial Order No. 119 of August 22, 1977, revised by Ministerial Order No. 75/11 of April 18, 2006.

The  vision  of Inades-Formation Rwanda is to  serve the common good for a dignified life for all . As for its  mission,  it is to  work for the social and economic advancement of populations, giving particular importance to their free and responsible participation in the transformation of their societies .

Inades-Formation Rwanda wants to recruit an Accountant who will work part-time (3 days a week) to take care of the accounting aspects of the projects carried out by the organization. He will ensure the processing of accounting operations according to the general principles of accounting and the accounting procedures manual. He must also follow the policies, procedures and regulations of the Inades-Formation network.

  2. Place of work:  Headquarters of Inades-Formation Rwanda in Gasabo District, Remera Sector, Rukiri II Cell, Amahoro Village.
  3. Duration of the contract:  1 year renewable.
  4. Functions and powers:

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Accountant:

As Accountant, the employee will be responsible for the following main duties and responsibilities

  • Classify, order and archive accounting documents;
  • Enter day-to-day accounting documents in the SAGE accounting software;
  • Ensure the maintenance of appropriate accounting documentation, in electronic, printed and physical form, in accordance with filing systems;
  • Ensure that all supporting documents are received in a timely manner and all comply in form and substance with institutional requirements;
  • Monitor the various operations of project bank accounts;
  • Make monthly bank reconciliation statements of project accounts;
  • Assist the chief accountant in the preparation of the documents necessary to make the payments;
  • In collaboration with the Chief Accountant, facilitate the availability and accessibility of documentation and provide information during audits;
  • In collaboration with the Chief Accountant, contribute to the regular budget monitoring of projects;
  • Actively contribute to pre and post audit preparation work;
  • Assist the auditors during the conduct of their audit assignments;
  • Contribute to the implementation of the recommendations of internal and external auditors;
  • In collaboration with the Chief Accountant, contribute to the development of various periodic or ad hoc financial reports as needed to be sent to partners;
  • Assume other tasks within the framework of its functions and skills at the request of its hierarchy.

Qualifications required:

  • Be of Rwandan nationality;
  • Hold a university degree at level A0 or higher in Accounting; having completed professional accounting studies – CPA, CIFA, CAT, or being in the process of pursuing professional courses at the advanced level, would be an asset.
  • Have a professional experience of at least 3 years in the accounting of non-governmental organizations;
  • Proficiency in accounting software. Knowledge of Sage 100 and Sage Paie being an advantage;
  • Master the computer tool (MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, …);
  • Fluency in written and spoken French or English, knowledge of both being an advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Have a sense of human relations;

  • Have a broad open-mindedness;
  • Be available to work in a team;
  • Have listening and dialogue skills;
  • Have a minimum age of 25 years and a maximum of 35 years

Working conditions

The accountant will work on the basis of a part-time contract (three days a week) for a renewable period of one year.

  • A photocopy of the identity card.
