Hydro-database Specialist at RWANDA WATER RESOURCES BOARD (RWB): (Deadline 1 February 2022)
Job description
Updating and maintaining the Water Management Information System (Aquarius and water portal suite) running,
Configuration, updating and maintenance of real time hydro-metric network (hydrological stations),
Setting hydro-metric control room and dashboard,
Monitoring of systems users activities,
Contributing to development of data quality workflow/SOP,
Contributing to data quality control, cleaning and analysis,
Troubleshooting of MIS system errors,
Archiving of all water data including discharges, rating curves, rainfall into the water MIS,
Database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata),
Creation and management of database reports, visualizations, and dashboards,
Planning and implementation of schedule changes (patching, maintenance, deployment, decommission, configuration, performance tuning) for all hardware and software used to support the database infrastructure,
Automation for repeating database tasks,
Control access permissions and privileges,
Development, management and testing of back-up and recovery plans,
Management of database security and disaster recovery aspects,
Recommendation and implementation of emerging database technologies,
Development and maintenance of Tables, Database links, Synonyms, Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, Triggers, Cursors, Views, and Indexes,
Maintenance of data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Policy,
Updating and maintenance of all water users record,
Contribution to water MIS improvement,
Organizing trainings on use of MIS for water resources development,
Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisors

Hands on development with C, C++, ASP.Net/C#. HTML, Active Server Pages, JavaScript J2EE, Servlets, Struts, Spring and Hibernate

Open source technologies skills

Knowledge of web server infrastructure

Knowledge of Server environments (window, Linux, UNIX);
