HZDR Summer Student Program for Students Worldwide 2024: (Deadline 23 February, 2024)
Each summer between July and September, the HZDR offers the possibility to join our research groups and participate in their activities.This offer applies to international master’s and Diploma students in natural sciences and related areas.
Our researchers design a project plan for you, supervise, and coach you throughout the whole project. A selected range of lectures and lab tours, which introduce you into the different branches of our research center, complete the program.
With this program, we contribute to the development of scientific research at an international and interdisciplinary level. We are convinced of the synergetic effect of integrative knowledge.
About Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR)
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf is member of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres. As registered, non-profit institution supported by the authorities of the Federal Government and the Free State of Saxony the HZDR pursues interdisciplinary research in the fields of Energy, Health, and Matter.

Aim and Benefits of HZDR Summer Student Program
- 36 Euros per day is given to cover your daily expenses.
- Accommodation facility throughout your stay.
- Travel tickets will be provided.
- Travel insurance will be covered.
- Scientific lectures will be given.
- Individual discussion sessions will be conducted.
- Meetings with your supervisors are arranged.
- You will be given feedback about the developments and loopholes in your overall performance.
Requirements for HZDR Summer Student Program Qualification
- You must be a student of Master’s or diploma in physical sciences, life sciences, or any other related natural sciences.
- You must possess a Bachelor’s degree.
- In case of having a diploma, you must complete the third year of your studies before the summer.
- You must exhibit a good academic record.
- You must have a valid enrollment from the university.
- You must have a good knowledge of the English language.
- You must ensure your presence from July 29, 2024, to August 30, 2024.
