Applications call for Inkitt 2020 Horror Writing Contest
Inkitt Horror Writing Contest is an opportunity for the platform to showcase the horror and terror writing capabilities in front of 2 million readers and writers around the world. In addition to that platform, some of the best submissions will also be eligible to receive cash prizes. Moreover, Inkitt welcomes the captivatingly scary books. All horror stories including psychological thriller, a ghoulish tale or terrifying gore details are eligible for this platform.
Prizes
- 1st prize: $1,000, a one-on-one writing coaching class worth $500, a feature on Inkitt’s social media platforms as well as an exclusive book badge.
- 2nd prize: $250 and shout out on Inkitt’s social media pages.
- 3rd prize: $100
Terms and Conditions
- Inkitt will judge the submissions by the algorithm.
- The winning author will be selected based on reader engagement at the end of the contest. This is a combination of likes, reads, reviews, and shares.
- Inkitt collect data on the submission from the date candidate submit their story to the contest
- Poetry and fanfiction are not eligible for Inkit Horror Writing Competition.
- Candidates can submit multiple entries over multiple months. But however, the minimum word count per submission is 20,000 words.
- Novels must be in English and candidates must own the rights to the novel.
- Previously or currently self-published books are accepted. Candidates will retain all rights to their stories while posted on Inkitt.
- Furthermore, Inkitt reserve the right to announce contest winners within 3 months of the contest closing.
