Job at IPRC Karongi : NETWORK AND SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (Deadline: 24 July 2018)
Job Description
Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems;
Install and maintain network hardware and software;
Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users;
Identify user needs and determine network and system requirements;
Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security;
Ensure network connectivity and regularly check whether the Institution’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on as per requisite technical considerations;
Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of active directory services; Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records;
Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes;
Assist staff in computer system use and networking;
Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers;
Maintain network servers such as file servers, Virtual Private Network gateways, intrusion detection systems;
Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, office phones, personal digital assistants, software deployment, security updates and patches;
Analyze equipment performance records in order to plan and budget for the need of repair or replacement;
Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records;
Produce an inventory of all PC hardware and software, virus protection;
Carry out other task as assigned by her/his supervisor.
Job Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology,
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or ICT related field

Good command of oral language skills and writing ability.
Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English or French
