The Position:

Reporting to Head of Finance, Strategy and Business Analyst will play a key role in coordinating the processes of business planning, budgeting, and monitoring ongoing business performance including forecasting and reviewing. The role is responsible for the identification, analysis and reporting on financial information to assess current and future performance of the business. This is a central role that will have interactions with most business units and key to identifying areas of growth maximization within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial analysis within business and support functions
  • Provide business unit management with interpretive and predictive financial information to make business performance assessments.
  • Analyzing and monitoring financial statements and other reports for conformance to budget, variance analysis and developing recommendations for adjustments and improvements.
  • Analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management’s attention.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide financial information, plans and projections to management.
  • Investigate and prepare proposals for pricing and reimbursement strategies for current and future products across all relevant customer and market segments.
  • Perform analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management’s attention including industry relevant operational and profitability analysis.
  • Presentation of findings and specific recommendations to business unit management.
  • Financial research and analysis related to the budget/strategic planning.

The Person:

For the above position, the applicant should possess the following:


    • Holder of a First Degree from a recognized University majoring preferably in Accounting, Finance or Commerce and a relevant professional qualification i.e. CPA, CA or ACCA
    • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and other professional banking qualifications will be an added advantage
    • At least 5 years working experience in a Financial Institution, with at least 3 years in a Management role
    • Have proven working experience in the preparation of budgets and financial analysis and reporting
    • Have a working knowledge of modelling techniques, scenario analysis, extensive MS office applications knowledge, SQL and Oracle Financials
    • Should have strong leadership skills with demonstrated competences in championing customer focus, and in managing people in a multi- cultural environment.

    Job at Kenya Commercial Bank :Senior Manager, Central Operations (Dealdine: 31 May 2017)

     

    The Position:

    This role exists to manage and coordinate all activities relating to Central Operations to obtain process efficiency and accuracy. The role is responsible for achieving and exceeding the various TAT, efficiency and accuracy targets as set out in the respective SLA’s.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership to the Central Operations team to process transactions on behalf of the bank’s business and support functions within set SLAs
    • Ensure that the bank participates in the Clearing House activities daily
    • Preparation of Central Operations reports and submission timely to Finance dept., Business Units and regulatory institutions (Central Bank, RRA, CRB, etc.)
    • Ensure that all policies and procedures relating to Central Operations are documented and always adhered to
    • Support business units in product rollout in so far as the required support falls under Central Operations.
    • Liaison for all KCB Bank Rwanda Ltd Correspondent Banks and like partners
    • Maintain and track a log for resolution of all Central Operations systems and Operational challenges
    • Verify and authorize Central Operations transactions in line with the set authorization limits
    • Provide technical support to branches and other business units for all matters relating to Trade Finance, SWIFT and clearing transactions.
    • Reconciliation of all the bank’s suspense accounts, especially those that relate to central and shared services
    • Manage resources within the unit, with direct leadership and management responsibility for:
      • Clearing Operations
      • FX, Trade & TBO
      • Account Services
    • Deputize the Head of Operations & Logistics in all matters relating Central Operations as concerns the bank’s stakeholders

    The Person:





    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following minimum requirements:

    • A Bachelors’ degree from a recognized institution in a business or social sciences related field. Professional qualifications and/or a Business-related Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
    • 6 years’ experience in Banking with at least 2 years’ experience in banking operations, trade services, treasury operations and clearing operations respectively. In addition, the applicant must have at least 3 years’ experience in managerial duties
    • Demonstrable leadership skills and strong governance awareness.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to network and develop internal and external business relationships.
    • Sound knowledge of laws and Central Bank regulations governing Banking Central Operations.
    • Must be a highly organized individual.
    • A proven track record in delivering results.

    The Position:

    This role exists to manage the cash asset in the bank by ensuring that the bank only holds optimum amounts of cash necessary for daily operations. The role is responsible for planning, supervising, directing and controlling cash operations for KCB Bank Rwanda Ltd to ensure Branches are served and risk of keeping idle cash is minimized.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Decide on branches’ cash request and serve them as per the operational procedures with respect to TAT and set limits
    • Repatriate all excess LCY cash money into BNR always and export all excess FCY
    • Collect and deliver cash to branches as per set security and ordering guidelines
    • Manage cash held by Central Currency Unit within the set unit limit
    • Ensure that all cash repatriated to BNR is sorted into fit and unfit categories as per BNR guidelines
    • Ensure all offsite ATMs are reconciled daily and that they are supplied with serviceable/fit notes
    • Monitor cash balances for all branches and activity for all offsite ATMs
    • Main custodian of cash held in the vault to mitigate against risk of loss
    • Ensure that operations for Central Currency Unit are managed in a manner that fosters teamwork, high performance, integrity and transparency
    • Authorize all transactions relating to Central Currency Unit, and as per set authorization limits
    • Responsible for general administration of staff in Central Currency Unit, and Offsite ATM Team
    • Manage the costs relating to Central Currency Unit

    Reporting to the Manager Financial Operations, this role is responsible for financials operations within accounts payable.     • Receive and match invoices to purchase orders and contracts
    • Process approved supplier payments and internal payments

    • 2 years’ hands on experience in use of Oracle Financials
    • Good numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy
