JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)
The National Council of Nurses and Midwives (NCNM) is seeking to recruit a self-motivated and qualified employee of high integrity to fill the following position:
1. Job title: Public Relations and Communication Officer
2. Responsibilities and duties
Provide media and communications advice to Registrar and Chairperson of the Council;
Foster good relations with various public and private media in the benefit of the Council
Inform the public about the functioning of the Council;
Prepare communication programs to keep the public informed of the achievements and realizations of the Council;
Ensure liaison between Council and the outside environment;
Prepare and correct the Registrar and Chairperson’s speeches, messages and statements to the press;
Ensure media coverage of meetings and conferences associated with the Council’s activities;
Develop media handling plans for all Council events including announcements, press releases and speech notes and arranging for press conferences, exhibitions and open days
Draft and upload the content for the Council website;
Managing and updating information and engaging with users on social media
Act as the first point of contact for media inquiries by phone and e-mail;
Maintain a communications contact database;
Planning, developing and implementing Public Relations and communication strategies
Render support to Registration Office in matters related to the issuance of licenses, certificates, and any other credentials;
Undertake other activities as delegated by his/her supervisor.
3. Qualification required
At least a diploma (A1) in Public Relations, Communication, Journalism or any other related field;
Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with fluency in Kinyarwanda, English, and French;
Excellent knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet;
Knowledge in health regulation policies and procedures would be an added advantage.
