The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) with support from TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) invites applications for its second young graduate program for a period of two years which combines the experience of working with a government institution, on-the-job training, and mentorship to help the young graduates achieve their full potential.

TradeMark East Africa in collaboration with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) would like to recruit ten (10) young professionals in the following fields;

• 2 Statisticians
• 2 Marketers
• 3 Financial Analysts
• 3 Economists

who will be working with the RDB staff and other consultants in the SEZ & Export Promotion Department. The Young Professionals will work in the area of Export Promotion, under the direct supervision of Export Advisor, the SEZ Advisor and other managers at the department.

The intention of the program is to inspire and mentor bright young Rwandan graduates to acquire technical skills and competencies in the above-mentioned field. The young professional program (YPP) is in line with Rwanda’s economic development program that promotes and encourages attraction and retention in various government institutions responsible to implement Rwanda’s vision 2020 and beyond and the National Transformation Strategy in specific sectors.

RDB’s vision is to transform Rwanda into a dynamic global hub for business, investment and innovation by fast tracking economic development in the country through enabling private sector growth. The SEZ & Export Promotion Department has a mandate of facilitating and supporting export growth in Rwanda.

TMEA in collaboration with RDB is now inviting applications for its second young graduate program for a period of two years which combines the experience of working with a government institution, on-the-job training, and mentorship to help the young graduates achieve their full potential. The Young Professional Program provides an opportunity for young professionals to gain valuable work experience and eases the transition between school and the workforce. It will also contribute significantly to improving employability skills whilst at the same time helping address the human resource constraints for the participating institutions.

Minimum Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications

The young professionals should fulfill the following minimum requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree will be required for each of the 4 categories (Economists, Statistician, Financial analyst and Marketer) in the relevant field which would be – Economics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing or a closely related field. Possession of a Masters’ degree will be an added advantage;




• Applicants with additional RELEVANT professional certification/qualifications would have an advantage.

Please note : Only CVs that specify the categoriesie (Economists, Statistician, Financial analyst and Marketer) will be evaluated.

Work Experience : N/A

Key competencies

Be familiar with Microsoft packages; Be organized and be able to work under pressure with ability to meet deadlines;

Be proficient in oral and written English; Ability to work as a team player and take directions from senior staff; Possess good interpersonal skills; Positive attitude: a ‘can do’ approach and willingness to learn; Be a Rwandan national aged not more than 30 years as at the date of application.
