ADVERTISEMENT – VCT COUNSELLOR

 

ARC works with its partners and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities – to better survive conflicts and crisis, and to rebuild lives of dignity, health, security, and self-sufficiency. ARC presently works in and with partners in ten countries globally.

ARC has consistently operated in Rwanda since 1994, and today has a strong and committed team of over 200 regular, full-time national staff and partners – implementing programs in Primary health care, RH, HIV and Nutrition, WASH, Shelter/Infrastructure, and SGBV & Protection.

ARC is looking for qualified, self-driven and committed individual – for the position of VCT Counsellor to be based full time in Mahama Refugee Camp in Kirehe District.

 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE

 

Key responsibilities:

 

· Counsel and test clients for HIV, and provide them with accurate information about the infection, prevention measures, current treatments, services, options and other resources.

· Ensure those tested positive are linked to ARV services for follow up and initiation on treatment

· Work closely with high-risk persons to develop a reasonable risk reduction

· Educate and mobilize people of concerns on condoms use and prevent Sexual transmitted infections

· Counsel people suffering from HIV, their families and friends, and provide them with accurate information about available treatment and other supports

· Maintain current and accurate client records as directed, collect and report relevant data about services provided, and prepare statistical reports as required;

· Develop and maintain an in-depth awareness of available HIV/AIDS treatment options, local resources and transmission prevention strategies

· Collaborate with Community health sector in HIV/AIDS prevention mobilization, sensitization and campaign

· Participate in training opportunities as required;

· Maintain client confidentiality;

· Perform any other duties assigned by ARC Health Coordinator

 

 

 

 

Minimum qualifications:

 

· Recognized university Degree in Psychology, Nursing or related field with full registration and current practicing license with a relevant professional body (Rwanda health profession council)

· Successfully completed training required for HIV/AIDS counselor from government or local regulatory

· Current counselling certification or at least 1,000 hours of counselling experience;

· Previous experience with Development or Relief Organisation in Complex emergency situations, including refugees, or community outreach

· Strong oral and written skills, Team player

· Highly organized, self-motivated, reliable, excellent interpersonal skills

· Preferably with previous experience in education and/or training

· Excellent organizational skills

· Oral/writing skills in Kinyarwanda and English or French

· Experience working in a refugee situation and/or previous experience in Rwanda

ARC is looking for a qualified, self-driven and committed individual – in the position of Storekeeper.

Various locations across ARC operations in Rwanda.

 

 

 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Effectively receive/dispatch supplies and equipment procured for program activities, offices and residences including transshipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes and Supply requisition forms), maintaining necessary copies, ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards.
Inspect deliveries and prepare and sign off stores and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate stores transaction records to ensure immediate reporting on stock movements in line with the organizations requirements.

Support the Logistics Coordinator in daily stores closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks supporting internal control systems in compliance with the stores and warehouse management requirements.
Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the items received/distributed and handled, detect and analyze reasons for stock damages and recommending appropriate solutions, keep track of inventory levels and alert sector heads and Logistics coordinator to enable informed decision-making.
Monitor condition of the stores, supplies, and equipment and take appropriate actions, to support efficient stores space-planning and well-organized items storage following ARC stores and warehouse standards.
Provide input to the preparation of monthly stock/inventory reports on the quantity and quality of the goods received/dispatched and handled, and refer to the Logistics Coordinator for appropriate action.
Prepare all necessary documentation – Goods Received Note (GRN) for every consignment received Stock control records (Warehouse Register and Stock Cards), Way Bill for items being transported to other locations – and inform the sector heads immediately.

Ensure safety and security of stores, equipment and materials kept in the store and control access to stores and ensure that only authorized personnel enter storage facilities.

 

Minimum qualifications:

 

 

Minimum Bachelor’s University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and related field required
Minimum 2 years’ experience of Supply Chain and/or warehouse management operations; with working experience in a humanitarian or development INGO preferred
Computer literacy and comfort with Microsoft Application packages
Ability to live and work in isolated areas in Rwanda.
Ability to communicate in spoken and written English with aptitude in reporting are mandatory.
