POSITION: Retail Supervisor

 

a) Reports to: Retail Area Manager

 

b) Location: Shop and field

 

Purpose: As a Retail Supervisor you will be driving the key metrics of a shop: Grow shop portfolio, by ensuring the acquisition of quality customers, run sales, installation and repossession to ensure a good Utilization rate. You will have the opportunity to build and manage a network of agents, technicians and one shop manager. This an opportunity given for very strong performers to build up the skills of a manager and later on move up in the organization.

d. Responsibilities

 

Drive the shop towards profitability (Return on Investment) by ensuring that both action and acquisition costs are maintained within the acceptable norm
Create and maintain an incredible sales team
Meet the sales objectives through careful planning and motivating your team
Meet the technician target through a laser focus on efficiency
Meet the operational standard we expect at the shop

 

e. Tasks

 

Responsible for new customer acquisition across a defined area
Hiring agents who are very effective sellers and good representative of BBOXX
Training agents to offer an incomparable customer service
Managing the schedule of agents and motivating them to reach new heights
Supporting and coaching agents in the field when needed (e.g. group presentation)
Monitoring their performance against objectives and take necessary actions
Organizing the agent network geographically
Responsible for technicians performance
Managing the schedule of technicians and motivating them to reach new heights
Monitoring their performance against objectives and take necessary actions
Responsible to implement a marketing strategy in coordination with Retail Area Manager
Responsible for the operations at the shop
Supervise the Shop Manager, organize shop workflow
Report to the Retail Area Manager about the shop results

Have a university diploma and 2 years of working experience
Have prior experience in sales management, we are not looking for the “striker” of a football team but for the head coach
Be willing to live in rural areas, the role is set in rural areas, you will be located at a shop which are in secondary towns
Be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

With over 150,000 systems deployed so far, we have 600+ staff – working across 5 offices in the UK, China and East Africa – who are waking up every morning to work with BBOXX to provide Next Generation Utility services. Many years on – BBOXX Rwanda continues to work in close cooperation with the BBOXX family of companies – assisting in expanding their profile of off-grid products offered – moving into cooking (biogas & LPG), DC solar, electrical appliances and beyond!

 

ROLE PROFILE

 

Title: Technical Support Coordinator

 

Reports to: BBOXX COOK Biogas Product Associate

 

Location: Kigali, Rwanda

 

Duration: 15 Months

 

Role Purpose: BBOXX Africa Management Ltd and BBOXX Capital Rwanda successfully applied for a grant from Energy and Environment Partnership Africa (EEP Africa) to pilot 600 household biodigesters for cooking in rural and peri-urban Rwanda over 18 months. Therefore, the project consortium requires a Technical Support Coordinator who will oversee the training of digester technicians, coordination of biodigester installation, repair, and maintenance as well as assist in supporting the creation of a technical services program.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Training of technicians in the proper installation and use of BBOXX’s biogas product range
To become the knowledge centre of BBOXX’s biogas product range in BBOXX Rwanda
To train technicians to install and maintain household biodigesters
To remotely assist technicians in troubleshooting biodigester problems and issues
Ensure digester installation and maintenance is performed in a timely and professional manner
To assist in designing and implementing digester installation processes with BBOXX Africa Management Ltd
To coordinate biodigester deliveries and installations with technician teams
To create and implement client digester maintenance schedules
Assist in designing and implementing technical service processes
In collaboration with BBOXX Africa Management Ltd
Map the entire customer experience and identify bottlenecks
Consider and assign resources (HR, vehicles, equipment, etc) and finances required to fulfill the desired customer’s experience
Assist in identifying households for biodigester pilot from BBOXX’s existing client base
To help design and distribute surveys for BBOXX’s existing customer base to gain insight on the behavior of energy consumption and waste generation
To help create the profile of the ‘perfect biogas client’
Work closely with BBOXX Africa Management Ltd’s Biogas Associate for process design and general project implementation

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering or related study
At least 2 years of experience working in operations, logistics or project management
Good practical skills in arranging and performing training and focus groups
Attention to detail and excellent project management skills
Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas effectively at all levels of an organization
Ability to work under pressure, and in a flexible manner
Professionalism regarding time and deadlines
Experience working in an East African or similar market is beneficial
Experience with clean cooking technology or biogas technology is beneficial
Experience in working with business cases and in a project management environment is beneficial

Title: Shop Manager

 

Reports to: Retail Supervisor

 

Location (Up-Country): Shop

 

Purpose: To maintain the standard processes and procedures for the shop to run smoothly.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Be a friendly, welcoming face for customers
Act as a helpful and informative first point of contact for customers
Manage stock at the shop, arrange deliveries from shop to clients/DC/Sales agents
Cooperate with local authorities on the requirements and seek advice from the line manager
Inform Retail Manager of any suggested improvements to BBOXX procedures or processes and any irregularities
Manage shop petty cash processes like requisition, spending, documentation, and reporting
Make sure all the system and non-system issues are reported on time through Rwanda Service Desk (RSD) and your line manager for advice and solution.
Ensure that daily actions such as assign stock/installation/repossession/replacement are recorded on time to allow accurate reporting.
Facilitate the scheduling of daily technician actions

 

 

 

Description of tasks

 

Physically open and close shop each working day
Tidy shop and surrounding area daily to ensure presentable to potential and existing clients
Report daily to Retail Supervisor about shop activities
Meet with Retail Supervisor weekly for updates on progress and achievements
Manage and organize all job tools/equipment used at the shop both physical and soft.
Manage properly all customer related documents such as contracts, installation, and repossession reports.
Guide customers walking into the shop on BBOXX products and services
Provide replacements/swap for customers coming to the shop with technical issues and ensure it is recorded correctly in the system
Manage daily cash disbursement in the facilitation of shop operations
In coordination with the Retail Supervisor, reconciles cash at the end of each day
Handle cash and expenditure receipts with care ensuring that the receipts are correct.
Do cash count report every morning and evening
Send the petty cash receipts to the DC at every logistics route
Make sure that all stock moving/moved out is assigned to the technician and right customers
Keep stock organized to enable accurate counting and safekeeping of stock
Send and receive products and other items between shop and DC through the logistics route and to-and-from customers or SAs
Regularly create stock inventory as per the prescribed stock taking process
Communicate to prevent stock-outs upon stock shortages
Seek advice on any irregular happening through your line manager or support team where necessary.

 

Person specification

 

The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Social Sciences or any other related field and may have previously worked in any administration or management position
