JOB AT CNFA : Nutritionist

 

Background:

 

CNFA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Nutritionist position for an anticipated USAID-funded Orora Wihaze Activity in Rwanda. The purpose of this Activity is to sustainably increase the availability, access, and consumption of animal source foods (ASF) through the development of a profitable market. The following Nutritionist characteristics, skills, experience and education are demonstrative of the skills necessary to fulfill this role:

 




 

Required Qualifications:

 

Master’s degree or equivalent training in nutrition science or dietetics with focus on diet formulation for women, infants and children;

Five (5) years of progressive professional experience working as a member of a development team with responsibility for design and leadership of nutrition sensitive agriculture programs focused on reducing malnutrition by improving the diets of women and children in rural poor households;

Experience leading nutrition improvement programs in Rwanda or a country with a similar rural socio-economic setting or in nutrition research in a Rwandan university is highly desirable; and

Demonstrated successful experience collaborating across programs and strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to productively interact with a wide range and levels of organizations (government, private sector, other development project teams, NGOs, etc.).

JOB AT CNFA : Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist 

 

Background:

 

CNFA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist position for an anticipated USAID-funded Orora Wihaze Activity in Rwanda. The purpose of this Activity is to sustainably increase the availability, access, and consumption of animal source foods (ASF) through the development of a profitable market. The following Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist characteristics, skills, experience and education are demonstrative of the skills necessary to fulfilling this role:

 




 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in evaluation, public policy, and/or related field is desirable.

Five (5) years of progressive professional experience, including in Sub-Saharan Africa, in monitoring and evaluation of international development activities/projects is highly desirable.

Experience working with private sector, civil society and government sectors on monitoring and evaluation programs, as well as building the capacity of local organizations to be effective in knowledge management and learning, is desirable.

Knowledge of different M&E tools, approaches, and methods in addition to experience working with grant making organizations, is desirable.

Experience in training, coaching and mentoring teams in monitoring-related techniques and methods is desirable.

Demonstrated knowledge of USAID rules and regulations required, experience managing a USAID-funded program.

JOB AT CNFA : Senior Policy/Institutional Development Specialist

 

Background:

 

CNFA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Senior Policy/Institutional Development Specialist position for an anticipated USAID-funded Orora Wihaze Activity in Rwanda. The purpose of this Activity is to sustainably increase the availability, access, and consumption of animal source foods (ASF) through the development of a profitable market.

The following Senior Policy/Institutional Development Specialist characteristics, skills, experience and education are demonstrative of the skills necessary to fulfilling this role:

 




 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Quantitative Social Science or other relevant degree is highly desirable.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of trade and investment framework development is highly desirable.

Experience working with host country public agencies and ministries as well as with private sector advocacy organizations is desirable.

Demonstrated experience in policy reform process facilitation, public-private dialogue and institution coalition building in rural economies is desirable.

Experience with policy research, policy advocacy coordination and support to both public and private businesses and related civil society organizations is desirable.

Experience and familiarity with agricultural development and policy issues, especially in the livestock sector in the African context, agriculture sector strategies and investment plans is desirable.
