Job Summary

BioLite is seeking a highly-motivated, knowledgeable, and friendly Product Specialist to be the leading source of knowledge for Biolite products and work with both members of staff in our customers’ organizations as well as end consumers to help us ensure that users of Biolite products enjoy the best possible customer experience.

Our business serves two distinct markets: 1) developing world families living in energy poverty, and 2) outdoor enthusiasts seeking fuel-independent cooking and off-grid power. Job Description

Your main responsibilities will be to work alongside our PAYG distributors to ensure that sales agents are well trained and accurately representing Biolite products to end consumers as well as being the ‘front- line’ for resolving end consumer issues and acting as the primary conduit for communication between the distribution partner and Biolite’s Head Office in Nairobi. This will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Being responsible for the imparting and expanding the knowledge of the Biolite product line within customers’ (distributors) organizations
  • Conduct regular training sessions to sales agents and ensure agents accurately present the capabilities and functionality of products to the end consumer.
  • Act as the front line for customer service. Be able to handle customer concerns through effective communication both on the phone and face to face and ensure excellent customer service
  • Be able to troubleshoot product related issues as and when they are brought up by customers
  • Travel to customers’ homes when necessary to provide in-situ customer service support.
  • Be trained on and use Biolite software to download product use history and diagnose products faults.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and concise problem statements through the gathering and analysis of data,
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the Biolite Tech Team in Nairobi through regular communications and help build a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Log all customer complaints/data collection and issues reported and work towards pre-agreed KPIs (E.G cases received, products returned, no trouble found (NTFs) etc)
  • Periodical reporting on product issues and customer feedback, working with the Product Development team to assist Biolite in understanding customer needs and preferences.

Qualification and Experience

  • Electrical Engineering degree
  • High degree of fluency in both written and spoken English and KiSwahili.
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of MS Office programmes.
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Team player and self-starter: ability to work collaboratively, but also self-managing and work well independently
  • Relevant field experience. Experience working in a business servicing ‘the BoP’ is a distinct advantage
  • Experience working in the PAYG solar sector is a distinct advantage.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.

Rwanda Repayment Specialist at One Acre Fund / Rwanda

We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

We are growing quickly. We currently serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Repayment Operations Team Deputy on the Field Operations team to oversee our micro-finance loan portfolio. You will implement the annual repayment strategy by coordinating between the repayment team and other departments, such as the Field Operations and Business Operations teams. You will also develop our Mobile Money systems (agents, policies, network, etc) to implement cashless loan payments for our farmers. We have rapid scale goals, and ensuring a sustainable program through loan repayment is an important part of achieving the scale that we are aiming for. You will report to the Repayment Operations Team Lead.

You will:

  • Be the primary project manager for microfinance loan repayment operations projects
  • Manage 1-2 junior repayment team staff
  • Work with field team to write and distribute weekly field messaging and training points
  • Help build portions of the repayment strategy, including SMS planning and comms, KPI coordination, field training and weekly reporting
  • Assist with strategic/analytical projects such as running staff surveys, writing repayment reports, and developing repayment KPIs
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Business Operations, Marketing, and Logistics to ensure repayment activities and processes run smoothly

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for professionals with 2+ years of work experience and a passion for international development. Candidates who fit the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Previous work experience in similar organizations. A background or interest in micro-finance, mobile money, or loan management is helpful but not required
  • Experience in a field operations/implementation role is preferred
  • Comfortable working with data – advanced Excel skills are not required but you will need to use quantitative data and KPI reports to create action plans
  • Good humor, patience, and a humble approach to service
  • Working knowledge of Kinyarwanda is required, strong oral and written English is helpful
  • Willingness to be based in Rubengera for the length of the contract

Job Description

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Management responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of a team composed of 3 – 5 Distribution Claims Operators
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to the DC Operators
  • Evaluate their performance formally during the pickup period

SHS-related issues

  • Responsible for handling all SHS claims from the hotline and ensure that they meet SLA timeline
  • Responsible for registering all SHS distributed
  • Responsible for the manipulation and the management of all SHS databases
  • Responsible for the creation of SHS activation codes according to the repayment goals, update codes for Marketing SHS and SHS for cooperatives
  • Responsible for reporting to all stakeholders whenever a report is needed
  •  Propose any SHS process change and ensure communication of these changes as well as compliance of these procedures

SMS handling

  • Responsible for sending all SMS requests and SMS reporting to requesters
  • Managing all SMS platforms and databases
  •  Propose any SMS process change and ensure the compliance of all the procedures

Distribution Claims Investigations

  • Creating all the processes and procedures on how distribution claims should be tracked, analyzed and investigated
  • Responsible for distribution claims data analysis and quality control
  • Reporting the well analyzed data to the involved stakeholders
  • (Optional) Permanent management of DC Deputy, as needed

Interdepartmental collaboration

  • Ensuring that a good relationship with other departments is well maintained
  • Engage in ensuring that the MNOs relationship is stable and well maintained
  •  Innovate new ideas to improve SHS systems
  • Responsible for tracking the stakeholders’ alignment with the set SLAs and its reporting

Small projects

  • PBX data management and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for the management of all the platforms used (Infobip, Telerivet, ZenDesk, …)
  • Engage in actively learning about the program through meetings and field visits in order to be able to resolve most clients’ concerns
  • Engage in increasing your program knowledge and developing your skills as these will be major considerations as promotion criteria
  •  Providing assistance to the Call Center team whenever the call flow is exceeding their resources

Working time

  • Engage in a 45 hours per week office work
  • Required to be flexible to work during the weekends to better serve our clients

Independence level

  • Effectively manage your time between all your projects/ learning and your primary responsibilities
  • Expected to show more independence level over some non-manager controlled activities
