NSS statistical CB Statistician at NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS OF RWANDA. Deadline : February 27, 2020

Job Description
•To be responsible for the implementation of national statistical capacity building of both NISR and NSS institutions;
•To develop the annual work plan for statistical capacity building and implement them in collaboration with NISR departments and NSS institutions;
•To coordinate and document the annual statistical capacity building of NISR and NSS institutions;
•To coordinate and document the hands on training skills transfer process to NISR and NSS institutions;
•To facilitate the NISR and NSS institutions staff to undertake both short and long
– term trainings;
•To organize and conduct the internship programmes for university graduates within NISR and NSS institutions;
•To organize and conduct the internship programmes for university graduates within NISR and NSS institutions and document them;
•To establish the twinning arrangements with experienced regional and international statistical organizations, and implement the agreement;
•To do any other task related to the job as may be required by the supervisors

Job Profile
A0 in Statistics,Economics, Applied Mathematics,Demography with knowledge of
statistical softwares (SPSS, STATA , SAS, etc)

– Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing

– Excellent interpersonal skills

– Creativity and initiative

– Good organizational and time management skills

•To develop a framework to produce indicators to monitor poverty change;
•To gather and to analyze all data related to poverty and poor households;
•To collaborate closely with the relevant Ministries to establish standards of data collection related to poverty according to national and international norms;

•To produce the necessary Government Finance Statistics to National Accounts;
•To Analyse and disseminate government finance and flow of funds statistics;
•To plan and supervise the data collection of the Business Enterprise and NPISH surveys

Formal private Sector Labor Statistician at NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS OF RWANDA. Deadline : February 27, 2020

Job Description
•To work closely with relevant institutions to design, and put in place an efficient system for monitoring labor statistics in the private formal sector;
•To harmonize labor data collection tools in private formal sector;
•To coordinate the gathering and analysis of labor statistics in the private formal sector with Social Security Fund and other relevant partners to ensure that the quality standards for gathering and publishing such statistics are established and maintained;
•To analyze household or establishment surveys data in the perspective of the private formal sector statistics;
•To produce annual report on labor statistics in private formal sector;
•To participate in the design of Household surveys in order to incorporate in the questionnaires, appropriate questions to produce needed labor indicators related to informal private sector;
•To participate in the implementation of any other social and demographic surveys;
