JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

The Information Security Officer (ISO) function within Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance Department (ERMC) is responsible for information security control enforcement, monitor and analyze the Bank’s networks for malicious activity. The ISO will investigate alerts, assisting with developing new security monitoring, use cases and ensuring all investigative activity is properly documented in the bank’s systems and followed up with relevant support teams.

Additionally, he/she will be in charge of banks infrastructure protection, the role will involve offering support that ensures that all bank systems are fully tested and remediated against any know or unknown risks. The ISO role will mainly focus to:

Perform in-depth security assessments of the latest adversarial threat vectors and technologies to ensure the Bank remains aware and protected from adversarial attack.
Develop CBAR Best practices for IT Security
Provide guidance and advocacy regarding the prioritization of CBAR investments that impact information security
Conduct threat, vulnerability and penetration testing on the Bank’s environment on a continuous basis. Reporting any issues noted and advising stakeholders on mitigation strategies.
Review of network architecture and artifact configurations (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, IDS, IPS) and give practical recommendations.

Support network and information security teams in coming up with controls self – assessment frameworks through developing custom scripts and work steps.
Present findings with clarity to management and get buy-in for implementation of controls.
Mine forensic data investigative and forensic audits in support of CBAR.
Review and provide support to ICT security policy implementation,
Keep a track on the IT risks and controls process through desk monitoring.
Participate in the implementation of the department Quality Assurance Program,with regard to Information Security Systems, to ensure that the bank is functioning at a high level of efficiency and effectiveness.
Support in other reviews that might be allocated from time to time.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

 

The applicant for the CBAR Information Security Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in information Technology/ Computer Science.
CEC (Certified Ethical Hacker) will be added advantage.
2-3experience in information security or related field
Proven ability to identify and analyze complex security risks and threats and plan for mitigation and response.
Proficient in the use of vulnerability and penetration testing tools both commercial and open source.
A keen eye to identify vulnerabilities and ensure remediation is done.
In-depth knowledge of security concepts such as cyber-attacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk management, incident management etc.
Knowledge of various operating system flavors including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Unix.
Excellent understanding of Bank’s infrastructure, networks and systems.
Knowledge of applications, databases, middleware to address security threats against the same.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Shift-based management skills.
Threat and cyber security competencies.
Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills.
Excellent planning skills.
High personal standards and goal oriented.

Prepare and present monthly financial performance accounts and reports.
Preparation of daily and weekly central bank or other statutory required reports.
Prepare and consolidate departmental budgets using provided background information;
Remit statutory dues and file returns within specified deadlines
GL maintenance and control
Processing payments to suppliers.
Preparation of monthly tax returns for review.
Customer MIS reviews.
Improvement and rationalization of payment procedures.
Management of debtors and creditors ledger.
Compiling of tax returns (specifically with-holding tax and VAT returns).
Dealing with adhoc requests from external bodies compiling various bank statistics.
Participate in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to financial accounting.
Implementing procedures, processes and audit recommendations relating to Finance.
Monitoring SLA with respective departments.
Monitoring reconciliations and disposition of reconciling items.
Validate supplier invoices upon receipt by confirming receipt of goods or services according to CBA’s LPO’s and/or contract.
Confirm or coordinate payment authorisations as per financial controls.
Deduct with-holding tax and with-hold VAT as appropriate and forward for counter checking and approval. Approval is after satisfactory evaluation.
Prepare cheques, carefully hologram and emboss the cheque and present for counter checking and signature to supervisor (2 signatures).
Call suppliers for their cheques and issue them.
Process accounting of supplier invoices and maintain payment records
Prepare accounting journal entries to ensure appropriate accounts are debited and credited as per chart of accounts and relevant accounting policies.
Post the original journal to system and record cheque in the register.
Filing of the paid documents.
Performance of value for money analysis as and when requested

Work closely with departments, especially assisting line managers to understand and effectively implement HR policies and procedures;
In liaison with line managers, develop HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;
Participate in the hiring process (policies, processes and tools) in attracting and selecting people with competitive attributes and skills. Ensure active monitoring of man power plans for adherence, scheduling of new hire activities and involvement in competency definition and assessment.
Management of the probation process to enable successful onboarding experiences as well as facilitate timely confirmations of all new hires.
Support the nurturing of a performance (result-oriented) culture throughout the bank, which is driven by suitable performance management, recognition & reward systems (policies, processes and tools) and development programs.

The purpose of the role is to plan and carry out specific audit exercises on the bank’s operations in an efficient, economical and effective manner in conjunction with the Head of Internal Audit, so as to ensure that the bank’s operations comply with the legal requirements and the agreed bank policies and procedures.

 

Participate and contribute in the risk assessment process for target audit areas and documentation of results as guided by the Head of Internal Audit.
Prepare audit plan for specific audit assignments and implement in consultation with the Head of Internal Audit, to ensure completion within agreed schedule.
Develop, in liaison with the Head of Internal Audit appropriate audit tests and programs aimed at achieving the desired objectives in areas auditable.
Draft, in concurrence with the Head of Internal Audit, suitable management letters reporting on key control weaknesses, non-compliance with procedures and management policies and regulatory requirements, among others, on those areas audited.
Complete audit assignments delegated by the Head of Internal Audit according to the agreed plan.
Carry out the identified continuous monitoring reviews and report on the results at the agreed intervals.
Work together with External Auditors on annual confirmation of customer accounts balances and bank wide end of year cash count and compile a report on this exercise.
Assist in follow up and disposal of cleared audit issues logged from previous audits.
