ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL PAID INTERNSHIP

 

Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC) is the entity setup to manage all water and sanitation services in Rwanda. WASAC has obtained funds from the African Development Bank (AFDB) and the European Investment Bank (BIB) to finance the Rwanda Sustainable Water and Sanitation Program (RSWSSP). The development objective of the program is to improve the quality of life and socio-economic development of the people and country by ensuring equitable provision of adequate, reliable and sustainable water and sanitation services for targeted cities with a view to promote economic growth and transformation. The program objective will be achieved through:

1) Water Supply Infrastructure and Services Improvement;

2) Sanitation Infrastructure and Services Improvement; and

3) Institutional Support.

 

 




 

This project also supports the youth employment through enhanced internship programs. Interns will be exposed to our various project activities from different places of the country and they will be given monthly allowances to assist them in their exposure.

The internship will be for 6 month period renewable.

Therefore, WASAC Ltd wishes to recruit fresh graduates with not more than 2 years after completion of their programs on the following internship positions:

Interns to be recruited under Rwanda Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitatlo program/RSWSSP in WASAC Ltd

 

1.Civil Engineers (11)

At least a MSC or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or its equivalent degree,
Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;
2. Water Engineering (6)
Holds at least Msc or Bsc degree in water supply/Hydraulics engineering all related fields;
Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

 

3. Hydraulic engineer (4)

– Having a least a degree in Hydraulics Engineering or equivalent degree;

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– Engineering knowledge;

 

4. Electromechanical engineer (6)

– Having at least a Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Electromechanical engineering or related field

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

5. Environmentalist (4)
– Having at least a MSc. or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related fields

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– Be equipped with Technical and engineering skills;

– Have an interest in the environment and conservation

 

6. Quantity survey (3)

– Having a degree in quantity surveying or other related fields;

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– The ability to learn how to use specialized software;

7. Topographic engineer (4)
– Having at least a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in topography, surveying or related field;

– The ability to learn how to use specialized software;

– The ability to make mathematical calculations;

– The ability to understand and interpret data;

 

8. Automation engineer (4)

– Have at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical, automation, mechanical engineering or other related fields;

– Have knowledge on Programming/SCADA software

– Can perform complex system tests

 

9. Mechanical engineer (3)

– Having at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields.

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– The ability to learn how to use specialized software

 

10. Socio-economist (3)

– Hold at least Masters or Bachelor’s degree in economics, sociology, social work, development studies or any other related fields

– Have sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political, contextual, and ethical issues in assigned areas

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.

– Basic knowledge in statistical software packages such as SPSS

 

11. Geographical information system (4)

– A at least a Bachelor’s degree in Land Survey, Geomatics engineering, Geo-spatial engineering, Geo-informatics, Geography, Cartography/Mapping, Geo-information Science, Urban Planning or any closely related field.

– Knowledge of specialized software packages such as ArcGIS or its equivalent.

12. Construction management (3)
– Having at least a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a construction-related subject, such as construction and project management or civil engineering and other related fields

– Basic knowledge of building methods and regulations

– Basic Knowledge of specialized software in construction

 

13. Sanitary Engineer (2)

– Hold at least a MSc. or B.Sc. in Sanitation Engineering, environmental engineering or in other related field.

– Ability to work in a team

– Have basic leadership and negotiation skills

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– Understanding of math, computer-aided design software, compliance/regulatory and programming language software, word processing software, and various tools, such as temperature monitors and meters

 

14. Accountant (3)

– Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– Basic Knowledge of accounting software

 

15. Audit (2)

– Having at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Admiration, in finance, in economics, management and any other related fields

– Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;

– A keen interest in the financial system

 

16. Finance (2)

– Earn at least a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business administration or accounting and any other related fields

– Experience in the usage of computer and office software packages

– Basic Knowledge of accounting software

 

 




 

17. Procurement (2)

 

– Have at least a degree in masters or procurement, supply chain management or a related field.

– Have basic knowledge of accounting, inventory management, global sourcing, and logistics-related information technology.

– Experience in the usage of computer and office software packages

 

18. Project management (2)

– Have at least a masters or bachelor’s degree in project management, economics, business administration or other related field

– Experience in the usage of computer and office software packages

 

19. Legal (2)

– Have at least a bachelor’s Degree in business Law, administrative law and in other related field

– Experience in the usage of computer

– Knowledge of Substantive Law and Legal Procedures

The application will be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and applicants are requested to submit the following documents of which will be based on during selection:

Application letter with the title of the internship position she/he is applying for;
Copy of ID;
CV with two persons of reference;
Copies of transcripts for the last two years;
Degrees or copies of to whom it may concern that clearly specifies that you have completed all subjects waiting for graduation;
The candidates shoul d be 2 years and below after completion of the university programs;
The candidate should have average marks of 70% and above for last two years at University/College (Proven by last two years academic transcripts).
