Context:
The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining, supervising, developing, coordinating all the issues related to the IT work system within the Bank and to work with all departments to ensure that their IT facilities and equipment are installed and maintained.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Maintaining, supervising, developing, coordinating all the issues related to the IT work system within the Bank and to work with all departments to ensure that their IT facilities and equipment are installed and maintained. This includes:
Operational responsibility for the server, workplace and network infrastructure of the entire bank including the branches
Administrative and operational responsibility for the core banking system and attached components
User support for all central and workplace systems (MS Windows, MS SQL, banking applications, e-mail), derivation and realization of improvements
Administration of the whole IT environment – from ad-hoc solving printer problems over the daily backup up to the development and testing of disaster recovery scenarios
Guaranteeing IT security and operational standards of the banking system providers
Strategic planning of the future system environment as well as investment and cost calculations together with the CEO and corporate headquarters
Assess, negotiate with and direct external providers while meeting the budget targets
Responsible for overall IT Service Management – monitoring the performance of IT services, policies, procedures and all related IT components with the view to producing a capacity plan predicting IT resources needed to achieve agreed service levels
Maintains bank’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
Developing new audit programs, check lists, working papers, etc. for assigned areas and continuously revise and improve them
Database administrator
Management of MyMBS and MS SQL DB
Operate and administrate database server and back office server (MS Win2008, MS SQL)
managing database access
writing reports, documentation and operating manuals
MyMBS administrator
Administrative and operational responsibility for the core banking system and attached components
Training and knowledge transfer within the IT team
In country project management of complex IT projects
Team Leadership including
anticipating and taking action regarding issues that may inhibit the progress of the team’s work and ability to meet deadlines
staff management: Career growth, absence management, etc.
Responsible for
Anticipating, identifying and promptly addressing tasks and issues that arise in his/her area of responsibility that are not specified in the job description.
Ensuring that his/her manager is aware of these tasks and issues.
Required to comply with the Bank’s Code of Conduct, to treat clients, colleagues and suppliers according to the code, and inform his/her superiors about any violation of the code
Necessary experience and knowledge
• Degree in Information Technology or Business Information Technology or comparable qualification
• At least 5 years of professional experience in an operational IT role
• Certification in system software
• Evidence of sound experience in:
Administering modern MS Windows server and PC environments (hardware, operation system, MS Office, SQL database, network connections)
IT security tools and methods
Backup and recovery procedures
Problem solving, analytical and process oriented
IT project work
Selecting providers and negotiating contracts
Windows batch scripting and Linux
Knowledge in operating an T24/MyMBS environment is an advantage
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally in English
• Ability to take responsibility and work on own initiative
• Good knowledge in training and staff development:
Effective leadership of employees and providers
Openness to learning new technologies and methodologies
Results expected to achieve
Operationalize the local IT strategy
Perform the IT budget planning and meet the target figures together with CIO
Prevent unplanned downtimes of the systems and infrastructure by proactive actions
Support business project planning and manage IT related parts within the defined frame
Reach and maintain IT Security standards given by local authorities, ABR and AccessHolding/LFS
