Job at Chemonics International: Value Chain Specialists (Deadline: 20 April 2017)

Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, is seeking value chain specialists for the anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future Rwanda Increased Protein for Dietary Diversity (Orora Wihaze) activity. This five-year, $10-25 million project will sustainably increase the availability of, access to, and consumption of animal-source foods in order to improve the dietary diversity scores of women of reproductive age (15-49 years), especially pregnant and lactating women (PLW), and children between the age of 6-23 months in poor rural  households.

We are seeking technical specialists in the following value chains:

  • Poultry
  • Pig
  • Goat
  • Fish

Qualifications

 

     

    • Advanced degree in a relevant technical area.
    • At least seven years of relevant professional experience in the selected value chain.
    • Experience working in this value chain in Rwanda
    • Excellent communication and writing skills in English. French and Kinyarwanda preferred.

    Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, is seeking a social and behavior change communications (SBCC) specialist, and a senior nutrition specialist for the anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future Rwanda Increased Protein for Dietary Diversity (Orora Wihaze) activity. This five-year, $10-25 million project will sustainably increase the availability of, access to, and consumption of animal-source foods in order to improve the dietary diversity scores of women of reproductive age (15-49 years), especially pregnant and lactating women (PLW), and children between the age of 6-23 months in poor rural  households.

    Senior Nutrition Specialist

    • Advanced degree in food and nutrition, nutrition research, public health, or related field.
    • At least 10 years of experience implementing food and nutrition programs in non-emergency development contexts.
    • Ability to develop strategies and detailed implementation plans for nutrition and related health and agriculture elements.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills in English, French, and Kinyarwanda.

    • At least seven years of experience designing and implementing social and behavior change interventions.
    • Experience developing and implementing SBCC strategies in agriculture and nutrition, ideally in Rwanda
    • Excellent communication and writing skills in English. French and Kinyarwanda preferred.

    Deputy Chief of Party:

     

       

      • Bachelor’s degree in international development, agriculture/agronomy, animal husbandry, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
      • Ten years of experience managing food security and agricultural development programs.
      • Foundation in a broad range of agriculture subjects including animal husbandry, agriculture economics, agriculture policy, market development, and nutrition.
      • Excellent communication and writing skills in English. French and Kinyarwanda preferred.
      • Experience in Rwanda preferred.
