There is an urgent need for expansion of our operations in other parts of Africa hence, we are recruiting suitable and qualified candidates to fill up the below positions in the organization:
Job Title: Business Development Officer
Department: Business Development
Reports to: General Manager
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Business Development Officer is responsible for developing marketing and business plans for the achievement of revenue goals for the Organization. S/He will assist in the development and implementation of long term organizational strategic goals, selected marketing initiatives, innovative business ideas and solutions that will position the organization competitively and profitably to enlarge her current clientele base, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the business and revenue generation of the Rwanda branch of the organization
Engage in market research in order to identify new business opportunities for the organization
Develop and constantly update and communicate market segments for the organization internally
Market organization’s services to potential customers about the various benefits offered by the organization’s services and following up to close business deals
Drive business development through business proposals and pitching to customers and prospects
Respond to queries and complaints from clients as regards the company’s services; this should be done in a timely fashion
Develop innovative strategies for servicing and retaining clients; this includes active communication channels in order to get feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan
Maintain updated clients and prospects database
Determine and develop methods of partnership with service providers and vendors in the industry.
Assist in the design concept development of all marketing materials including company profile, events/program fliers, proposals, etc.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
First Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
At least 2-4 years sales/ marketing experience in the services sector
Demonstrated track record in sales and client retention
Experience in the travel industry will be an advantage
Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
Strategic planning and good negotiation skills
Excellent command of English language both written and spoken
Excellent command of French & Kinyarwanda languages
Must be outgoing
Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent understanding of the territory and market management
Excellent numeric and analytical skill
Must be self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work with a team
