Job Description
- Coordinate and manage the teaching of modules
- Ensure the availability of teaching materials and assignments to be used by trainers before the start of teaching;
- Prepare guidelines and schemes for teaching the modules;
- Initiate the revision of modules when required
- Identify external trainers and guests speakers to handle some parts or aspects of the module;
- Engage in Postgraduate and CLE teaching
- Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars in Postgraduate programs and CLE;
- Engage in examining duties, i.e. the production of exam questions/papers, exam marking and moderation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a high quality curriculum
- Supervise the teaching of the module and ensures quality;
- Ensure the conformity of the teaching of the module with the curriculum;
- Advise the external lecturers on approaches to teaching and learning which are appropriate for the Institute and subject area and reflect developing practice elsewhere
- Participate in research activities
- Conduct research in order to enrich the module and update it from the time to time;
- Carry out research and produce publications or other research outputs, in line with ILPD mission.
- Write research proposals, papers and other publications
- Undertake personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution’s research profile
- Supervise students’ research activities
Job Profile
- Master’s Degree in Law with solid experience in practice;
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice;
- A postgraduate Diploma in Teaching in Institutions of Higher learning would be an advantage;
- Working experience of at least 3 years in Legal professions.
Key Technical skills and knowledge required:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Rwandan legislations, policies, contract drafting, regulations legal procedures;
- Knowledge in civil and common law traditions;
- ICT Literacy in MS word, Power point and Internet;
- Proven ability to devise, advise on and manage learning/research programs;
- Have high analytical, report writing and presentation skills;
- Have leadership skills;
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision;
- Time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
- Effective communication skills;
- Fluent in English.

Job Description
-
- Elaborate action plan in partnership with relevant departments and other stakeholders
- Participation in preparation of institute’sstrategic plans;
- Organize planning sessions with relevant departments andstakeholders
- Identify institutional priorities in line with National development programs (EDPRS, Vision 2020, Sector Strategic Plan, Institutional strategic plan) and discuss them with his/her supervisors
- Consolidate and harmonize departmental action plans
- Participate in budget preparation and ensure the linkage between the plans and the budgets
- Produce the annexes to the action plan
- Capture institutional action plan in SMART IFMS and IPPIS
- Mentor and coach departments/units on planning tools
- Consolidate the action plans from different units;
- Facilitate the elaboration of institutional policies and programs that are aligned with the government policies and strategies
- Develop tools for reporting and share them with different units;
- Provide guidelines on elaboration/ review/ repeal of existing policies, programs and strategies;
- Facilitate in development or initiation of new policies/projects and implementation strategies, studies of the institution;
- Participate in the elaboration of terms of reference for policies, programs, projects and strategies undertaken by the institution;
- Work with all Units and Programs to ensure reporting deadlines prior to final submission are met and consolidate the institute’s quarterly and annually report ;
- Conduct institutionalMonitoring & Evaluation
- Develop M&E tools (M&E plan, Log frame, etc…)
- Establish mechanisms for collection of data
- Analyze, interpret and report on the collected data
- Conduct assessments of implementation of action plan, policies, programs, project and strategies.
- Evaluate and update key performance indicators of activities and programs
- Participate in determination/revision of units cost of the institute.
Job Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Project management and Strategic Planning.
Key technical knowledge:
- Skills in using Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation tools;
- Good knowledge of statistics, planning, monitoring and evaluation tools and software;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the EDPRS monitoring and evaluation framework;
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision;
- Time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
- Effective communication skills;
- Being computer literate;
- Have high analytical, report writing and presentation skills;
- Have coordination, planning and organizational skills;
- Be cooperative and have a spirit of team working;
- Fluent in English, Kinyarwanda and French. Knowledge of all the three languages is an advantage.
