Job Description
– To help the Strategic Reserve Program Manager to coordinate all activities related to storage at national, community and household levels,
– To provide all technical advices related to storage management;
– To control quality of stored grains and oversee the plants/ warehouses operations.
– To monitor the progress of implementation of the action plan in storage,
– To help the Strategic Reserve Program Manager to manage properly country strategic reserves,
– To provide monthly report of activities to the Strategic Reserve Program Manager ,
– To help the Strategic Reserve Program Manager in monitoring and evaluation of policies, strategies and programs aimed at promoting agriculture postharvest handling and storage development;
– To help the Strategic Reserve Program Manager to develop appropriate systems to improve storage, processing and marketing of agricultural products;
– To determine and evaluate the needs for the warehouse and Silo plant
– To make sure that the basic principles of the inventory controls are respected,
– To make sure that all the book and report of stocks management are well filed out brought up to date and well classified
– To control regularly the state of the foodstuffs and to inform the supervisor of any abnormalities observed,
– Training and coaching of Warehouse managers in pest control and fumigation operation
– To work as a focal point of the National Strategic Grain Reserve in the area he(she) works
– To make all others activities asked to him by its superiors,
Job Profile
Ao in Food Science, Management and Agri business with a working experience of3 years in Grain storage management or a Master’s degree in Food Science, Management and Agri business with a working experience of 1 years in Grain storage management
Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required:
– Deep knowledge of Agriculture context development agenda;
– Knowledge in emergency response and recovery following natural disaster;
– Knowledge in designing and implementing appropriate and effective safety nets, including cash and/or food transfer programming;
– Skills in technical proposal writing, designing and implementing food security programs;

– Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French; knowledge of all is an advantage.
